    First and foremost let me say, I am not sticking up for the kid yet. I am trying to get the facts before rushing to judgment or forming an opinion. But I have a question about something you have noted twice in this thread.

    Your first question here states his family stated they met the fake her. Can you provide a link where they said that? From what I heard they mention that the fake she supposedly flew to Hawaii to meet Manti, not that they met the fake she. Not trying to prove you wrong, just trying to collect my own facts as well.

    The rest are questions I also have and hopefully we can know the truth...because the truth is out there....sorry, couldn't resist the X-Files reference because this is what this episode feels like sometimes.

    By the way, I don't see star defending anyone. I see star stating his/her opinion on what happened just like everyone else on here has done. In fact, if you read closely, star even references in his/her opinion of what happened that Manti handled the situation terribly.

    Those are all questions that need to be answered. I believe the author even states there are questions that need to be answered. Until those are answered, I will withhold judgement. Now, what reason did he have to make up the story and what reason does Jack Swarbrick have to support him rather if he knows Te'o is lying? Swarbrick is a very smart and successful attorney, there is no way he could think it will not come out if Te'o made it up from the beginning.

    You might have me on that. I'm going on the word of ESPN talking heads which I very rarely do, but I've heard it from at least four of them. Supposedly came straight from the father's mouth about how she would fly to Hawaii and how much the family enjoyed her company and loved her.

    I'm pretty sure that the ESPN talking heads said that they got that straight from the Deadspin.com article. That is honestly one thing that I haven't heard coming straight from Te'o in regards to the rest of my comments. I remember Te'o himself talking about his brother calling him crying over the phone about her death though.

    Gene Woja whatever the fvck mentioned that he did ask Te'o about getting some pics of her or speaking with her family and he adamantly shut that down due to the request of "her family" though.

    Anyone that says "I'll wait til the whole story comes out first" is being naive and trying too hard to be politically correct. The point is that the "whole story" won't come out because they are in full denial, prove us wrong mode. That's how ND rolls. Look at recent ND issues for proof. It'd be different had this happened elsewhere. Like Blackistone (sp?) said on ATH yesterday, why would they hire a PI to thoroughly investigate this but not hire one during the rape coverups? They live in a morally superior world and will do anything to protect their self believed image. Anyone with a brain can look at the timeline and see that Te'o and ND were/are hiding something and now its obvious that the university and family were/are involved. They are covering lies with more lies.

    No it's pretty simple actually. Glad you know how to use quotations as well. However, the use of quotations would not be needed in this instance because that is what I was actually doing, it was not meant in sarcasm. Sorry you do not know that.

    And also, clearly you have reading comprehension issues so I will try to go slow.

    Star stated, "He was dumb and fell for a hoax that a few kids ran on him."

    Which means Star actually believes what both Notre Dame and Te'o said.

    Notre Dame said in a press conference that Te'o was the victim of a hoax.

    Te'o said he was the victim of a hoax.

    Star believes what both are saying when he stated, "He was dumb and fell for a hoax that a few kids ran on him."

    So, like anyone who knows how to follow a logic argument, that means Star believes Te'o fell for a hoax, when in actuality it was not a hoax because Te'o himself stated he met the girl and that the girl traveled to Hawaii and met Brain Te'o (that's Manti Te'o's father)

    So in conclusion it literally is impossible to have an adult conversation with you (as I explained above) and it would be equally impossible to have an adult conversation with Star since Star himself is in denial of what actually happened. (once again follow the logic of the above break down. You cannot argue with someone who is in denial, Star is in denial, he thinks it is a hoax)

    So you are claiming ND really did not hire a firm to investigate and that Swarbrick made everything up he said in his press conference? Why would he do that instead of distance the University from the situation? It will obviously come out if he and Te'o are both lying and it is a complete fabrication.

    Has nothing to do with politcally correct and more to do with being a rationale human being. And trust me, I am anything but naive. Te'o is just as much to blame for this scandal as anyone, that is not debatable. He handled it poorly regardless of whether he was complicit from the beginning or found out Dec. 6th.

    The only thing that matters now is WHEN he was complicit about it. If it was from the beginning, all a stunt for attention, then he is nothing that any of us ND fans thought him to be. If it was Dec 6th, then I feel he was the naive kid, embarrassed and overwhelmed by the moment, and unsure how to handle it...and IMO, he still handled it poorly.

    They all said that they didn't meet her, instead he (Te'o) would leave them to meet up with her.

    If you think about it, this makes it 10x worse. Who has a girlfriend, that they're madly in love with, that flies to Hawaii, and not one single family gets to see her?

    Then, several interviews, Te'o claims that his girl loved his family more than anything in the world. But, she flies all the way to Hawaii and never stops by and sees them when visiting him?

    Manti has some serious mental issues, because he actually believes his own lies. Now, he replaces his former comments about having seen her before, with him being hoaxed and that he actually has never met this girl.

    Kid is a raging, pill popping, mentally unstable middle linebacker, in training. He needs to bypass the draft and get some serious help.

    Why not wait until the facts are out before proclaiming him guilty?

    You and I both agree the facts will come out. Why would a highly respected attorney like Jack Swarbrick call a press conference and lie when you and I both know the facts will come out? Surely he has to know they will come out as well. What does he have to gain by lying on Wednesday knowing he will be found out to be lying in the next couple of weeks?
