fonFirst sentence disputes their headline. News outlets always go for the big headline...so do trolls on a message board. Seeberg never claimed she was raped by the football player, that is a fact. Anyone who really cared about her and what happened would know that in the first 30 seconds. Trolls on the other hand are not interested in the facts. Seeberg claimed he exposed, fondled, and licked her breast against her will and that he stopped because he got a phone message. Please tell us all how that is rape.

Ok, you say I have nothing to support my claims so I post 3 articles from 3 different reputable sources and you still claim bs. Then you back up your claim with no links or anything of substance and say "that is a fact". I knew what I was dealing with here but you confirmed to everyone else that there are no reputable sources when your head is buried so deep in the sand. Could you atleast back up your claim with a link or something reputable? Oh I forgot, your word is bond and anybody that says otherwise is after ND. Your attitude matches your school's holier than thou attitude and that is why they are in this in the first place.

Some corrections on things :
Manti was contacted by this girl via internet. A friendship started which, over a couple years, they became a couple. If this was all planned on Manti's part, what was their to gain? Heisman votes? You really think in 2009 or 2010 he was thinking Heisman?
Brian Te'o said that she would come to Hawaii and meet up with Manti. Never said she met the family.Maybe Manti, in an attempt to finally meet her, invited her to Hawaii. From things I have been told, she cancelled last minute more than a couple times. Maybe Manti didn't want to disappoint his parents and kept it to himself.
Do you think it's possible that he was kind of embarrassed that he was dating someone over the internet, and had never met her? A friend of mine was internet dating and he had a couple buddies giving him a hard time. Maybe Manti felt he would get same treatment.
When he got the phone call from the 'brother' about her death, he did say it was HER brother. If he was being catfished, how hard would it be for a male participant to call him and tell him this news?
Once he found out it was all a hoax, how do you think he would feel? Pretty embarrassed? Stupid? I'm sure he wasn't sure what to do at this point. But, there was the media, constantly in his face. Asking questions. What was he supposed to say when the reports are constantly asking the same damn questions as the ones before them? He probably figured to just run with it and hope it ends up being forgotten about.
He finally informed his coaches Dec 26, and had a conversation with Swarbrick a day or 2 later. Put yourself in his shoes. He is a pretty reserved person. Perhaps not to sure of himself around women. The internet made him comfortable, and easier to have a relationship with her. Maybe he got in over his head at some point. Maybe he thought with her always backing out of meeting at the last minute, he would just end it and then these 'catfishermen' would come up with these horrible things happening to her to reel him back in. They knew they had a very trusting individual and they exploited him.
I can't imagine being him if this is how things went down? He has got to be embarrassed as hell. He is probably the kind of guy that will take hurtful things said about him to heart. He will talk when he is ready. He may not be the greatest football player in most peoples eyes, but he really is a great person in life. Maybe other people here on tBB should try to be half the person he is in life.

All of this could have happened, and I sincerely hope it is what happened. But some things just don't add up at times for me, and I am not ashamed to admit I have skepticism about the facts as they have been laid out for us.
Like the years you posted here, 2009 or 2010? There is proof that Manti tweeted the LennayKekua account in October of 2011 for the first time, not 2009 or 2010. He stated "Nice to meet you ma'am." or something to that effect.
Who was he talking too when he stated he would stay all night on the phone?
Why lie about not only how you met this girl, but when you met her?
When you find out the truth, Dec. 6th, why wait 20 days until you tell your coaches and admin? That is a long time to sit on something this big. I find something out like this, in person, text or on the phone, I am telling those that are important to me ASAP, but I know I can't compare him and I. Appels and oranges, but this is why people are finding his story hard to swallow.
These and many other questions need to be answered before I personally support his side of the story. I am not one for blind faith. But this version you have laid out is very plausible, but so is the other side.
What I dispise are the media outlets cracking jokes about a kid who could very well be a victim here. If the story played out like you say here, Te'o, a kid who has done things for people he never knew out of the kindness of his heart, with no expectation of recompense is being made the laughing stock of the nation.
Of course, on the flip side, if he does end up as complicit throughout the entire thing, then was all that for show? Was none of it real? Is he really the person we all thought he was?

I agree. So many people are throwing him to the wolves and leaving him for dead, yet know little about what happened. All these reporters are throwing things out there as fact when they don't have a clue on half the story. Journalists (not all) are so worried about being first, when they should be worried about being correct. That causes all these message board people to go ape shit on something they don't know either. I wish Manti would speak about this whole situation ASAP, but until he does, people need to stop crucifying. It's not just for Manti, it's for anybody. Let the facts come out. Let the story be told. Just like these reporters want to be first, the other people seem like they are wanting to be the first to convict. If he was in on this, I hope he is honest about it. I want to believe he was hoaxed, but you never know what people will do. It could also be a hoax played on Manti by a # of people.

They are linked in the thread that is actually about Seeberg. You felt the need to bring it into this unrelated thread. Go there, learn what she claimed. Of course, if you read your own links you would know she didn't claim she was raped. Quit pretending you care what happened to her. IF you did, then you would have at least read her statement to the police. So far all you have spent your time doing is trolling.

I love how Sawrbrick claimed that Teo found out it was a hoax in early decemeber during the awards, yet Teo continued to speak about her death 5-6 times after. ESPN has a story up on that. Can a ND/Teo loayalist please explain that? This dude definitely was not the victim here. He is an attention whore and he did this for attention. The kid is not all there mentally.

Dec. 8 — South Bend television station WSBT shoots video of Te'o saying in a pre-Heisman interview in New York, "I lost both my grandparents and my girlfriend to cancer." That's two days after the date given by Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick for when Te'o found out about the hoax. ___ Dec. 9 — At the Lott Impact Awards dinner, Te'o says that Kekua "made me promise, when it happened, that I would stay and play." ___ Jan. 5 — At the media day before the BCS title game, Te'o talks about his travails during the season, saying, "My team was always there for me, and my family was always there for me."
