I'd throw Chance Warmack's name out there for left guard.

Agreed. He is rated by a few services as the top guard in the draft next year.

Seriously, I mean it, no flame: what's the deal with Easley? He had like 2 sacks last year and was generally known for being explosive on and off the field and being out of place a lot.

    Educate me.

Lotof talent in this league, give me some names I left off. Not familiar with TAMU, or MU rosters enough.

If I have to name 10:

Note: leaving off Lattimore and Davis because of injuries, but if they are close to 100%, they're in. Just don't know.

    B. Jones- Bama
    C. Warmack- Bama
    E. Lacey- Bama
    AJ McCarron- Bama
    T. Mathieu- LSU
    E. Reid- LSU
    S. Montgomery- LSU
    O. Beckham- LSU
    T. Wilson- Arkansas
    J. Jones- UGA

Bama and LSU are still a lot more talented than the rest of the league, IMO.

Lutz (Aub) is top 10 if he plays a major role.
    J. Hunter and T. Bray (Tenn) are hard to leave off.
Shaw at USCe could be by the end of the season.
3 DL at UF are in consideration as well.

Note: I didn't forget Murray. Not impressed.

Agreed I just don't see it in Aaron Murray. Dude can't look off DB's or progress through reads.

It's hard to limit it to just ten guys. Those up top are who I think will be the most productive at their positions if healthy. There are 10-15 more on the same or very similar level, all of whom could be just as productive. It's hard to put guys who aren't comnpletely proven yet, even though we all know they'll blow up soon. For instance..

    CJ Mosley - Bama
    O. Beckham - LSU
    Sharrif Floyd - UF
    John Jenkins - UGA
    Eric Reid - LSU
    Warren Norman - Vandy

Those aren't even necessarily the next group, just guys who will have huge years. Of course guys like Eddie Lacy, Darick Rogers, Spencer Ware, Malcolm Mitchell, Dom Easley, are all going to be good and continue to get better as they age.

Bottom line. Tons of great players in the SEC and who the top 20ish are, is subjective. The league is loaded with great players next year, especially on defense and at RB.. Davis, lattimore, Crowell, Ware, Hilliard, Lacy, Norman, and A&M and Miss States RB's, whoever they are..

I'm more curious to see which young players make big impacts.. Either freshmen, RS freshmen, or young new starters. I thought Malcolm Mitchell and O. Beckam were two of the most impressive freshmen in the SEC last year.

  • yall are forgetting the top returning corner in jonathan banks. then miss state also has the top returning tackler in cam lawerence. also nickoe whitley who had 4 ints but missed alot of games because of a torn achelles tendon. miss state has alot of talent coming back in 2012 and we should have a top 3 or 4 defense.

  • Good list. Justin Hunter, Da'rick Rogers, Cord Patterson, Tyler Bray. That's impressive now that I think about it. What does UTk have RB/OL wise because their QB/WR lineup looks good on paper.

Our dline was/has been under appreciated due to inconsistent lb play and depth.

I dont look at sacks as much with a dt, although more would be great, but I focus more on disruption

Our defense was on the field the whole gm at times

Easley should be moved around more (from de to dt)

I agree the kid needs to grow up

ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY nothing. Their running game was bottom 5 in all of D1 last year, and it isn't getting any better.

Clowney didn't impress me last season. He has to play every play and be more consistant. I would go with Square and Williams at Bama over him as well as taking Lemonier at Auburn before him as well. Mingo for sure as well.

It will be interesting to see if Clowney progresses any in year 2.

    BetterOff

  • Dang I forgot about Mingo. Kid is a player and would replace Clowney on my starting lineup for sure. I like Lemonier, but not as much as Clowney or Mingo. UT has a killer WR corps. Wish Bama had Hunter and Rogers. Don't love Bray.
