  • I never understood SOS.. The way they rank them always seems to be WAY off.

    8 or 9 ranked teams and our SOS wasn't in the top 10 IIRC.. Played the Pac Champion and Big East Champ on top of Bama, UGA and company.

    I know that for sure. Even if you beat UF, which I expect, and if Clemson beats South Carolina, SOS is going to absolutely keep you out of the mnc game. Even if you jumped to #2 in both human polls, and Oregon was #3.

    FSU is shaping up a 13-1 season very nicely, and that will prove to recruits that Jimbo and his staff can get it done

    Recruiting will take the next step on that front, come into next season as the superpower they have been in the past

  • Trying to have good conversion about college football in a reasonable and logical way is nearly impossible here. But I keep trying to because it's fun, especially with how sensitive folks get about SOS.

    For example, just the mere suggestion that Oregon should fall in the rankings just like Alabama did
    since Oregon also lost at home, by fewer points, and to a higher ranked team, caused an angry mob.

    Out of the top 7 SEC teams I would think that Florida and LSU
    would have the the highest SOS among that group with Florida having the best.
    Is that correct Ruffalo? Whose or what list are you using?

  • Ya Sagarin has Alabama's SOS at #30, and Oregon's at #36. I would say that is about right for now.
    When Oregon plays Oregon St they will pass Alabama in SOS, but then when Alabama plays Georgia
    it will probably but them slightly back ahead.

    Oregon would need UCLA to beat Stanford so they get into the CCG to finsish with a
    better SOS than Alabama.

    Both participants in the BIg-10 championship game lost to PAC-12 teams already. What u talkin about?

    PAC-12 bottom feeder took the best team in the BIg-10 to the wire. Big-10 ref's got an assist on that one as well.
