Top 5 Programs the Next 5 Years?

  • Who ya got?

    Mine:

    Bama
    UF
    LSU
    Oklahoma
    Texas

    Weedline

  • Why UF ? that staff hasn't proved anything and certainly not more than FSU's so far

I would replace us with them in all honesty, for now at least

    Ill go

    1- Bama
2- LSU ( not that they have a solid QB coach again they should be insanely hard to beat )
    3- Oklahoma
    4- Florida State
5- Michigan ( with OSU down they will be back into the top 10 after this season, Robinson being a senior in 2012 helps )

    6- Texas
    7- Florida
8- South Carolina ( can't see why not with the talent they have now, if they can find a QB they should be a staple in the top 10 and battle with UF each year for the SEC east crown )

    9- Oregon ( pending sanctions )
    10- Nebraska or Auburn

I went top 10 cause 5 was too hard

Also the top 2 are in order but the rest are just scattered and could be anywhere in the top 10

  • I agree with NoVaNoles. Florida has waaaaay to many question marks to be on this list. I would put FSU or Oregon in their place. No way Michigan will be back to the top 5 in the next 5 years either.

    Big A

  • 1. Bama
    2. Oregon
    3. Oklahoma
    4. Florida State
    5. LSU

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

Yeah Im being a little over the top there but I think its possible, I should wait until I see them play but they're a sleeping giant and with OSU possibly being down the next few years they can really turn things around quickly IMO.

We shall see, probably should have held off of them but fug it

    FSU
    Oregon

Each team, IMO, is in position to control their BCS conference except for Bama. SEC is tough to win.

  • 1. Alabama: 3 straight top 10 finishes, 3 straight 10 win seasons (in the SEC & playing a top 15 non-conf. opponent each season), 3 straight top 3 recruiting classes, and college football's most recognizable coach.

    2. Oklahoma: In Bob Stoops' 12 years at OU he has only finished with less than 11 wins 3 times (7-5, 8-4, 8-5) and has won 7 Big 12 titles. OU is always in the top 10 in recruiting and has, arguably, college football's 2nd most recognizable coach.

    3. Texas: Even if Mack Brown flops this year it won't matter, because Texas is, well, Texas, they could go out and snag pretty much any coach they wanted. The players would be there

    4. Florida State: Hard to argue FSU isn't poised for a run. ACC is a good but not deadly conference, Fischer went 10-4, won his division, and won the MNC for recruiting title (Scout excluded). Once FSU gets rolling, hard to see anyone in the ACC stepping up to their level.

    5. LSU: the Tigers have a Louisiana locked down when it comes to recruiting. Love him or hate him, CLM has won big at LSU and shows no sign of slowing down. Les and Nick has become the SEC's version of Bo and Woody.

    6. Florida: So far CWM is off to a hot start on the recruiting trail and there is no reason to think his defense and OCCW's offense won't succeed, but until they do it on the field, hard to put them higher than 6.

    7. Michigan: OSU's loss is their gain, Michigan is off to a hot start on the recruiting trail in Hoke's 1st year and OSU's problems will likely boost those efforts allowing UM to poach a fertile crop in Ohio for next 3-5 years. The bar is high at UM, CLC won 5 Big 10 Titles and 1 MNC in 13 years and was kindly shown the door.

    8. Oregon: Nike will provide OU whatever they need to succeed and CCK isn't going anywhere. OU has to recruit nationally because of the lack of instate talent. As long as CCK can keep snagging players from CA and TX, then OU will continue to win big.

    9. Auburn: Love them or hate them, there seems to be no middle ground where the Tigers are concerned. Taking a win no matter the cost approach to recruiting (see the Cam Newton saga and other interesting recruiting tactics) AU is poised to put plenty of talent on the field in the coming years. In the last 10 years AU has put together its most successful decade, can they continue that level of play?

    10. TCU: Look for the horned frogs to dominate the big east, just as they dominated the MWC and become a fixture in the BCS.

  • So nobody thinks that Irish won't be in the mix? Lol! I do, of course! Along with Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama and Oregon.

They could be, but judging from what I saw last year Im not ready to proclaim them as being headed in the right direction

I know that Miami game was a good ending to the untrained eye but that Miami team was awful to say the least and other than that I can't think of any notable wins you guys had last year

  • Yes Im a huge homer, but UF had an 8-5 year, and now our program is in shambles? Oklahoma and LSU were in the same boat the last couple of years... Now with that said ,it is way too early too predict the new coaching staff's adaptation to SEC play, so I'll put us at a solid 7...

    6) FSU- Could be higher but they almost HAVE to beat OU to be top 5... I say they get it done, but we'll see...

    5) OU- They'll remain solid... But if Stoops doesn't win this year does the cup remain half full, or does it become half empty?

    4) LSU- The Madd Hatter... Nuff Said...

    3) Boise State- Their schedule will keep them in contention until 2043...

    2) Auburn- Malzahn has his QB for the future... Matter of fact, he has 2 of them.

    1) Duh... Roll Damn Tide... The ol' mean bastard is still there, so they'll remain #1... P.S. I hate that phrase... In all seriousness, where did it come from?

I don't think anybody said your program is in shambles, just that uncertainty surrounds it

I had you top 10 and I think that is fair, if not more than fair

  • I hear ya 'Noles, USC was pretty big for us and yea I'll think that way because of my heart. Overall I think we are headed in the right direction maybe not quite a top fiver but our defense will surprise a few and I think ND is gonna put some major points up. It's gonna be a fun and interesting year. I am hoping for a consistency and top 10.

Yeah I can see the USCw game as a big win but it reminds me of our win against the Gators, it was a big win but Florida was down much like USCw was.

When I think of FSU's season last year there isn't one win that I was proud of really, if we're gonna improve we have to beat good teams, something we did not do last season.

USCe I guess but they were missing their best player for much of that game

I think it is pretty much impossible to say who will be in the top 5 five years from now as no one on teams' current rosters will be around then.

Would people have thought TCU would be a top 5 team five years ago?

My top 5: Alabama, LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, and FSU. Feel like I am jumping the gun with the Seminoles, but feel that 1 FL team will be in there, great recruiting at the moment so I stuck them in over Texas. My 2 five consist of: Texas, Nebraska, ND, TCU, and Michigan.
