Top 5 QBs all time in the NFL

  • BamaShack said...

He's not the best ever. Brady might go down as the best ever. I judge Qbs a little differently. Main factor with me is pressure factor.

I wouldnt take any qb thats ever played over Brady. But Joe has won more so he gets the nod now. But Brady is 2 D stops away from having 5 rings.

Undefeated in the game that counts. Montana, Brady, Marino, Favre, Manning is how I see it..

  • I don't think you can include any guys of today. Can you imagine what bradshaw or staubach would have thrown for with today's rules??? loco

Lester Hayes was allowed to violate people in ways that would be deemed a felony in today's society and guys STILL threw for yards in that era!

You can't include Brady, Manning, Brees or Cam in any of these categories. If they went back in time and played, they would whine, bitch, complain (and do it on facebook, twitter, tweeter, tmz, mtv, espn, 2, 3, 7 and 11) about how their receivers are being held, etc etc etc.... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT A GUY LIKE RICHARD DENT WOULD BREAK THEM IN HALF 15 SECONDS AFTER THEY RELEASE THE BALL!! And the ref look at them and go, "hey, that's football son, get up and shake it off."

Guys were just tougher then. Ronnie Lott's pinky, Jack Younblood's broken leg in the superbowl... etc etc etc...

Now it's just watching a humorous video game. Guys like Jack Tatum would be thrown out of the league now if they played....

You literally do not know censored

Edit:just to clarify what I mean. I was talking about the point where you stated you cannot include anyone from now. I do agree about people being tougher then lol

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

    1. Montana 2. Brady 3. Marino 4. Elway 5. Manning 6. Young

    This.

Only I would flip Elway and Marino. Elway's mobility and rings gives him the edge over Marino.

Anyone ever read "Dark Side of the Game"?

Jerry Glanville gave specific instructions to the Falcons to avoid hurting Joe Montana because they didn't want to face Steve Young.

    Always thought that was interesting.

Hilarious given that Joe routinely savaged the Falcons. Esteban just carried on the tradition.

I still remember the "California Trophy" Jerry set on the sidelines at the Stick (in 92 I think) because they had gone 6-0 against California teams the year before. Great incentive for another epic beat down.

Glanville was the definition of fool.

he's barely 500 in super bowls..... not that clutch imo

Scored on his final drive in 07. Had the game won. David Tyree.

Hit Welker for the icing first down last year. Drop. Clutch as clutch gets. Only one with an argument is Montana

I'm of this opinion as well.....but the greatest QB of all time in my opinion goes back even a little further. Otto Graham played for the Cleveland Browns for 10 years, leading them to 10 championship games and winning 7 of those title games. I think Graham still holds the league record for average yards per catch in a career at 9 yds. He was an all-american at Northwestern in football.....AND basketball. Otto would be a very good argument for the greatest player of all time regardless of position. Would have been kind of gaudy if they gave out rings back then. Montana, Brees, Manning, etc should be below him in any QB rating imo.

I agree. And there are guys like Slingin' Sammy Baugh, Johnny U, Fran Tarkenton and others that many on this board don't even know. Those guys still threw for major yards with the rules they had to work with. Drew brees and Tom Brady might not throw for 3,000 a year with those rules. Oh yeah, and when Dick Butkus buries them and the refs let it go..... Let's see how that works out.

These guys are spoiled now a days.... Can you imagine Ray Nitsche wearing armani, burberry or calvin klein to post game interviews???

    lol

  • 1- Peyton
    2- Montana
    3- Elway
    4- Brady
    5- Marino

Rodgers is the best QB I've ever seen but he hasn't been elite long enough to crack my top-5. In the near future he could very well jump the list.
