Top 5 classes (according to 24/7) in 2013?

    1. USCw
    2. Bama
    3. Texas
    4. Michigan
    5. tOSU

I don't think we'll have a big enough class to finish in the top 5.

Foster also has some Jeff Luc to his resume as well. Yeah he's an absurd high school MLB but he's also 6'0 250 already. If he gets to 265 what happens. Levon Kirkland?

Donta Hightower was 6'4" 250 as a FR and finished off in the 265 range.

He's at least 6'2 also RN didn't compete in a camp this summer and didn't budge from his rank...

Depends on the position of the commit with the way they do the rankings. If it was someone like Kamara (not saying it is), that would be a 3rd highly ranked RB which wouldn't move the needle that much at all. Of course, none of this really matters and is just fun for the next few weeks.

Jalen Ramsey will move the needle today.

  • USC is gonna have the top class but I doubt they have enough total to be ranked #1.

I understand that as well. Not sure what the total reasoning for that was. I know he didn't have the injury issues and I think there was some rumblings about whether he was going to be able to hold on to that #1 ranking into the season.

Could just be a position think as well. Big time DE's with that kind of size and speed are more valuable in the long run. Much easier to project that position as well, IMO.

I meant on Bama's end. I don't know enough about your class really to know what would move the needle at all either way.

So, by definition, they wouldn't be the top class, if your prediction holds true.

I honestly think he'll end up at Vandy.

Again, check out the average per recruit rankings.

Ohio State is ahead of Michigan.

You're looking at our avg star rating with our class pretty much completed. Once Urbs starts eating up all the 2 star OL still out there I'd expect your avg rating to take a hit.

It won't be according to this site but IMO nobody is going to have a better class than them.

Getting hurt a bunch and not competing at camps make it hard to not let people jump you. Other kids have just been able to prove more this summer.

Not sure why it matters. Anyone that is a 5* should be a gamechanger, regardless of where they are ranked.

Kids still got a 100 rating as well. Just nit picking when your bitching about a 5 spot drop.

Especially when they explained that spots 2-7 were all interchangeable

  • I think USC will have the best class per man but Bama overall in the rankings.

    1 Bama
    2 USC
    3 Michigan
    4 LSU
    5 Auburn/UGA

I agree. Personally I don't get nit picking between anyone in the top 100. They are all good.

When people complain about someone dropping a handful of spots....or even get excited about a kid jumping up some spots, it baffles me.

Is OJ Howard any better now because he has a 5th star? Nope.

I can understand the complaining about stars since recruiting rankings is all about bragging rights but complaining that your 100 grade LB at 7 is ridiculous.

I understand the Bama bump conspiracy but again you got IMO the best LB in the nation. Live it up. Be ready to see some heads roll in 2013 cause the kid is gonna get a lot of PT his freshman year

I agree that it will be a great class, but when you can only take 15, there will be holes and depth issues going forward. I think that is the importance of quantity. Of course, no one could get hurt and every player could pan out as well, but I have never seen that happen before. I would rather have anyone else's classes that can be in the top 10 or so over the next couple of years than what USC can do just for that simple reason.

Look at Bama's 2008 class. If it would have been limited to just 15 players or so, guys like Courtney Upshaw, Terrance Cody, and Barrett Jones would probably have been left out in favor of Tyler Love, BJ Scott, and Star Jackson, who all were big time busts.

JMO and not knocking anything you have said or what USC is doing. They have a great class put together all things considered.

I agree. I can't know the kid for wanting that kind of spotlight and playing time either. If I wasn't a huge fan of either and knew I could start in 2013 for one and possible have to wait until 2014 for a chance for non-special teams playing time, it would be something to definitely think about. Auburn isn't half as bad as the BOLers make it sound either. The kid could do a lot worse than get to play at one of the top 15 programs of all time that did just win a BCS title 17 months ago or so.

And for the record, the kid would get PT at Bama as well. We normally play a lot of LBs so he would have gotten some PT during the season

his explanation: "we didn't feel he was the #2 player in the nation"

welp, good explanation for being the only recruiting site in existence to feel this way.

when i asked what their feelings were based on, i didn't get a response.
