Top 5 favorite bands....

  • What is everyone's list of favorite bands? I am trying to expand my catalog, so I'm leaning on the wealth of knowledge that is tBB. Disclaimer: this isn't meant to be an argument of the best bands ever as everyone has their own personal favorites.

    I will start:

    1. Seether (bad ass live)
    2. AIC (Layne's voice was so haunting)
    3. Sevendust (love all of their albums and great live)
    4. Tool (unique sound that will stand the test of time, I think our grandkids will still be listening to Tool)
    5. Metallica (longevity and would hit my list just for MOP)
Honorable mention: Staind (big Aaron Lewis fan except for that country crap)

Stairway to heaven is the greatest song of all time and will always be the greatest song. The lyrics, guitar, and drum play is second to none

Im a huge Bullet, All That Remains, and A7X fan. Saw a killer show with Seether and A7X in Atl. I had heard Avenged before, but they put on one of the best live shows around.

I will need to check out the two. Any song recommendations?

Egypt Central is a little different than the other 4. They are a little softer, but have good vocals. The reason they made my top 5 is because I have seen them live twice and they are better live than on record. here is one of my favorite EC songs from their first album...

August Burns Red is pretty heavy metal. Much harder than Avenged or Bullet.

Egypt Central - The Way, CD Quality

This track is called The Way by Egypt Central from their self-titled 2004 album Egypt Central, I have the 2008 reissue of the same album, which explains the alternate cover art. All the music on my computer is ripped directly from the original albums in the uncompressed AIFF file format, so always expect the best quality music from my uploads. All rights go to Fat Lady Music and Egypt Central, NOT me.

  • This is as close to a top five as I could give. I don't really have a top five.

    Thrice
    I am the Avalanche
    Bayside
    Against Me
    Gaslight Anthem

I am being lazy or I would name a lot more bands. I might come back later and name some more.

  • Depends what music I'm into at the time. I stick with the classics

    Soul-

    Otis Reading
    Bobby Womack
    Curtis Mayfield
    Sly and the Family Stone

    Classic Rock

    Pink Floyd

    Beatles (Later stuff especially)
    Blind Faith

    Hard Rock/Grunge/Modern stuff

I saw Saving Abel twice. It was the same show as Egypt Central and Saving Abel was the headliner. Very underwhelming. Great guys. Had them come back to a friends house, chilled, whatever. Drank in the parking lot before the show... And they got 6 of us VIP passes. The show itself? Well I think they only sang 6 songs, and 2 of those were covers. One of the covers was "Simple Man" and I can't remember the other one.

I'm kind of just rambling. Egypt Central stole the show both times, as they really brought the energy and they just rocked a lot harder. Saving Abel was slow, boring, looked bored and uninterested...

How long ago did you see them? I seen them in 2010 after 2 albums had been released and they were bad ass. They are from Mississippi so maybe im a little biased but they really rocked the house. Another band that was with them that night that was really good that's gonna make a name for themselves is taddy porter. Pretty good band. My top 5 was from bands that i have seen live and out of all them linkin park was by far the best i ever seen. They were so good that night they had to do 2 encores. It was unbelievable

This was about 8 months ago. I saw them twice in the same week.

Once down here in Jacksonville, NC. Then the Hurricane came, and we went to WV for a couple days to stay safe. They just happen to be playing in my hometown for their next show so I called up Rick so he could get me into the show(They were sold out). Like I said, great guys, but as far as performance goes pretty underwhelming. I'll put it this way...

    Live - Egypt Central
    Record - Saving Abel
