Im sorry, that is good for michigan, we measure success in titles down here though.

I mean if you want to count BS titles then go ahead (1926, 1941, 1964, 1973)

I prefer to measure the validity of my school's history in all-time win percentage (Michigan is #1 and Bama is #6) or you could compare the series record between the teams (Michigan takes the series 2-1) or you could even go by number of undefeated seasons (Michigan has 22 undefeated with 13 perfect and Bama has 12 undefeated and 10 perfect)

If going 5-2 since the 1998-99 season against the SEC in bowl games is sucking, I will take it.

How many players on your team has beaten an SEC team. What was their one experience against a team from out conference......and remind me what team that was again? In case you were wondering, we are 3-0 against the B1G in that same time frame. Those teams we beat were also a combined 3-0 vs Michigan in those same years.

Oh, I can't wait for your response. It was Mississippi St and they beat you 52-14.

So the other 7 years that you guys sucked was because of bad offense?

Remember when you lost to Minnesota in 2004 and they ran for about 300 yards against your SEC best rushing defense? Probably not.

Rich Rodriguez bro. Congrats. Everybody kicked our ass under Rich Rodriguez. Guy is a piss poor coach that recruited like crap, didn't focus on defense at all, and didn't develop players and the team never got better as the season went on.

Hoke showed me in year one he is a complete 180 from Rodriguez. He recruits way better than him, he develops players, his teams get better as they year goes on, and most importantly he lives and breathes defense, he is all about defense. The guy doesn't even spend time with the offense, he is coaching up the DL or the LB 99% of the time. The other 1% he is with special teams. Rich Rodriguez was 100% with the offense.

If you don't remember, Alabama absolutely blew before Saban showed up. You guys had a worse record than 122-40 over the the same time span, so cut the bullshit out. Then again, you're a Bama fan, so everything after Bear and before Saban doesn't actually count.

We actually have the same number of championships in that time frame as Michigan, so even at our lowest we are on par with you guys. BTW who named that time frame? I said 10 years, so you guys add 3 years to inflate your record.

For real. Michigan rocked college football in the 1910s. The fact that it has one split national title in the past 60 years means nothing. It's still the best program going.

Anyone saying Michigan has always sucked or sucked for that long is an idiot. Just let them be.

We dont have to count BS titles, but we can, fact of the matter is you can only count 2, even your in-state rival(which most of u would say isnt a rival) has more than you.

From 1990-2011, Michigan is #9 in overall win percentage during those years with a 71.1% win percentage. Alabama is 25th with 63.9% win percentage. So yeah, obviously we haven't be anywhere near good since the 1910's especially recently.

Everyone has a bad stretch once in a while. Does Bama want to discuss the Mike Shula years? I didn't think so

A bad stretch? Jesus, you're supposed to be the best program in the country and you've won ONE title since 1948. That's borderline absurd. The fact is, Michigan's place as a college football great was built from 1890-1930. Since then, the success on a national level has been limited. Good program, but it's been a lot more flash than substance in the modern era.

FWIW, I've got no problem discussing Mike Shula. He was hired during a crisis, got us through a tough time, brought in a few good players, and got fired for not being a good enough coach. He loved the jumbo package.

I'll discuss any era that you would like. The Mike Shula era is about as relevant to a game in September of 2012 as out National Championship 3 months ago for the 2011 season.

    ZERO!

Don't let some trolls piss you off dude. This is a message board for discussion. Calm down and we can discuss anything you would like.

As bad as Mike Shula was, he did continue a string of 8 consecutive coaches (that coached a game) to have 10 wins in a season. The reason he was fired was because he could not build on that. Mike Shula wasn't fired because he did a poor job. He took over a team riddled with probation, 30 days before the season started. He had a bad first year becasue the team wasn't that good. He had a OK second year considering the 1st and 2nd team QB's went down, we lost 2 RB's, and half of the OL. His 3rd year was a 10 win season that started out 9-0 before losing to 2 top 10 teams to end the regular season, ending with a Cotton Bowl victory and a top 10 ranking. His 4th year was a rebuilding year and honestly, Nick Saban had an indentical record following his first season as Shula did his last season.

Shula would probably make a good coach if he was given another chance somewhere. He got fired because Mal Moore got wind that Saban would talk to him and decided to take a chance.

Not sure why anyone would argue this. If they do, they are an idiot.

In another 30 or 40 years, your 1997 and our 1992 championships "won't count" since they were pre BCS.

Actually, we do have quite a few trophies during that 20 year stretch. One of them is from winning a bowl game against Bama. Also, a national championship trophy would be included in that 20 year stretch,
