Yeah Michigan hasn't won any games since 1930.

I don't even know what you're talking about. If you want to read the post again and attempt to comprehend it, be my guest. But don't draw conclusions that were never made. I never said Michigan hasn't won any games since 1930. I just said that it's national greateness lies mainly in superlatives achieved prior to that date.

Not sure why anyone would argue this. If they do, they are an idiot.

In another 30 or 40 years, your 1997 and our 1992 championships "won't count" since they were pre BCS.

I think the only fan base that has made the argument has been Alabama's. I really don't understand it, it's not like it's a completely different sport.

We all have those that should stay on the home sites.

You just met a couple of ours.

Michigan has been horrible since WWII. Bo didn't actually happen. Desmond Howard was just created to promote ESPN. Bo and Woody played for MAC titles, not for Big 10 titles.

    All that kind of stuff.

Actually, we do have quite a few trophies during that 20 year stretch. One of them is from winning a bowl game against Bama. Also, a national championship trophy would be included in that 20 year stretch,

    roflmao

So the answer is no, you don't get a trophy for being #9 in winning percentage over a 20-year stretch. Cause hell, we probably have more trophies than you over that stretch and we're only #25.

Hey bud, don't make it your job to apologize for me, OK. My opinion is just as valid as yours. If you feel like my opinion makes you look bad, then tough. Get over yourself.

So let me get this right, 617 wins since 1930 isn't an achievement? Just because Fielding Yost won so many games and national titles since he was an innovator in college football doesn't mean he should be penalized for it. If Nick Saban were to win 3 national titles but the format for college football national championships changed again, would his titles count in 50 years?

I agree. People in our fanbase love to discredit Michigan and Notre Dame's titles from the past, but they are quick to defend the 14, instead of just counting the AP/Coaches/BCS titles, which would leave it at 9.

Every title that has been given out prior to 1998 is subjective and can somewhat be argued.....and frankly, even some of the BCS titles are up for debate. If we can't get to an 8-team playoff, I would be for going back to the old way, pre-BCS and let be a beauty contest again.

Yeh, he likes to call people idiots for sticking up for their own team, when he was doing the same thing. I have much respect for Michigan, but im not gonna let their fans flame bama and not reply. If you dont agree BetterOff, maybe you should go to your homesite. Im not gonna call you an idiot for stating your opinion though, i actually like you as a poster, but get off your moral high horse.

I never suggested the titles don't count, did I? All I did was point out how long it has been since they were won. I don't care how many titles any team claims. If the format for college football changes, Saban's titles of course will still count. But if we go 65 years and only win one title, people in 2075 are going to be more concerned with how we've performed in recent times than we did in the early 2000s.

Wins are great. They aren't championships, though. Let me ask you this:
You can have a 3-year stretch of: 7-6, 8-5, and 14-0 with one national title (OR)
You can have a 3-year stretch of 9-4, 12-2 and 13-1 with no national titles.

Which one would you rather have?

That's realistic but when's the last time Bama has faced a team with both the QB and RB returning off of 1000 yards rushing seasons?

    Bama by 10.

I'll say...24-14. I think it will be a lot closer than people think, and that Alabama will pull away in the 2nd half.

This game should have been played like 3 years from now after Hoke has loaded up his roster via recruiting so it would have been on a more level playing field.

Hoke is only on year 2, Saban is on what, year 6 or 7?

Alabama just has too much talent right now. Not a fair fight imo.

Well, the first thing I'd need to know is what constitutes a trophy? Remember, we don't give out axes for beating Northwestern down here in the South.

I'll take the second option because my team would be competing for a conference title and chance to go to a National chapionship every year. Also you are totally implying that Michigan's title don't count, what would make it so Saban's titles would count? Because he was the Alabama coach?

Not sure, maybe Florida was close with Tebow, but im not so much worried about our rush defense, unless Denard comes out lighting it up in the passing game to open up the run, then we could be in trouble.

Honestly, I'd take either the first or second scenario and not complain.

MNC titles mean next to nothing to me until we get a playoff. Then and only then we can remove the M from the NC.

I think our ranking will be higher than it should be to build up the game. I am guessing 7-9 when we really should be about 13-15
