Top247 for 2014 expands to 100

Also Cook being ahead of Yearby right now doesn't make any sense at all

    None

I agree Cook might be better but when one runs for 2000 compared to around 800 for Cook, well the kid who starts and goes for over 2000 should be ranked higher

We like Cook long term as a bigger body - one cut vertical runner, but with ability in space in the open field.

I really think his body is going to take off and he'll end up a 6-0, 210-215-pounder with home run ability.

Just me, but I expect him to have a big junior season as compared to his sophomore season.

Both are terrific, and different runners.

    Nick Glass and Demar Kitt?

Kitt will show up pretty quick as the list expands out to 150, and then all the way to 247. He was definitely considered for the 100.

  • Corey Martinez?

  • Two kids from Serra. Very nice.

  • No comment on Glass...I guess the college coaches behind the 20 offers must see something in a 6'0 200+lb sophomore safety that you guys don't see as you are evaluating talent. Kid has offers from just about every top program in country (and is early commit to UGA). I love what you guys do and think 247 the most credible site out there, but scratching my head on this one huh

Serra is loaded in 2014. Jalen Greene is a stud too

Corey Martinez will show up as the list expands for sure. Really solid guard prospect. One of the top guards we have seen in 2014.

    Bad year for CA?

I think there are just a lot of guys we don't have enough to go on yet. Guys like WR Alex Van Dyke from the Sacramento area- 6-4, 200, track guy, dad was a great receiver, already has a Cal offer. No film or a ton of varsity game experience.

I think we will see plenty of players like that pop up in the Golden State and the numbers will balance out over time.

We don't plan to just release this list and sit on it. We are going to constantly evaluate and adjust two classes at a time moving forward.

What're your thoughts on MI QB Chance Stewart? Is he a top 247 guy?

He was very close to making it and should be one of the early prospects post-top 100 as we fill out the Top247.

There aren't the guys that jump out at you like the offensive linemen, Ty Issac, Smith, Marshall, etc.- but there are guys like Dominique Booth, a pair of defensive ends in Chicago, another guard in Iowa, a linebacker in Indiana and more from Ohio and Michigan that are excellent prospects.

Yeah I get it, just think they are both right there with each other and for now I would rank Yearby higher cause of his production

But its meaningless being this early

We just like others better at safety nationally. Glass is going to be four-stars, Top247. We like him as a prospect for sure, you just have to keep in mind that you have to stack him up against a bunch of other very good players.

  • What Indiana players do you see in the top 247? And where do you see Dominique booth being ranked?

  • Illinois is turning out quite a bit of talent. Unfortunately they want to play for crappy Illinois or that egg sucking slime ball Kelly at Notre Dame.

  • He should move up very high in your rankings after you evaluate the film during the season as Miami Central plays a brutal schedule. Opening up with Loganville,Ga and the #1 player in the country, then followed by Booker T Washington, and then Bradenton Manatee. He will face some tough comp that many others won't face until All-star games and college.
