The following is a Q&A exchange about Fitz and Clark that Coach Hoke had with the press today following the live streaming portion of the press conference ...

Q: Do you feel caught between giving your team the best chance to win versus making sure the players pay the consequences for breaking the law?
A: “Well, I think whenever you’re in this position, you’ve got to make decisions that are best for the program. And that doesn’t mean for one specific team, it means for the program. It means for the identity and the character of the program that you represent. Are they easy decisions? No. Are they decisions you want to make? Because you love the kids, no. But you have to make them.”

Q: It seems you’re in a very uncomfortable spot.
A: “I’m comfortable with what I want to do. Very comfortable with that. Talking to all you guys about it? No. That’s not comfortable, because it’s talking about two kids who are sons to us and made bad decisions.”

Q: Do you know what you’re going to do?
A: “Oh, I probably have an idea.”

Q: Probably?
A: “Probably."

Q: Will you reveal your decision on Fitz to the public, or will you keep that secret until game time?
A: “I’m sure I’ll say something when the time’s right.”

Q: And that means…
A: “When the time’s right.”

Q: Right before kickoff?
A: “I don’t know. I haven’t figured all that out. I’ve got an idea.”

Q: Fitz’s arraignment is on Tuesday. Does that affect his situation?
A: “No. Nope.”

If a player gets a DUI, misses some practice time, but then is allowed to play in all games without any sort of in-game suspension then where exactly is the punishment? As I've already said, missing practice and still playing in games is a reward, not a punishment. You got caught drinking and driving, shame on you...now go watch TV while your teammates bust their asses and I'll call on you once we kick the ball off for real...

I don't care if he plays or not because Michigan isn't winning either way but the justification for allowing him to play, if he does, is just laughable. Downright laughable.
