So apparently an Army Track commit, Abraham Hall, ran a 9.74 100m at a district track meet this past weekend. To put that into perspective thats the 4th fastest time ever recorded behind Bolt, Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell. Two questions :
1. Based on the information given in the link which is only that the timing method is unconfirmed and no indication of wind speed or direction, can you consider it legit?
2. What would cause an error seemingly this large if it is an error? Faulty timing devices? Strong tailwinds?
I don't know much about track, but even I consider this fishy considering he ran 10.19 in the prelims.
His previous PR was 10.42(still one of the best in the nation this year), so that is the worst hand-time I have ever seen.
That's what I was thinking.
His head coach said something happened with the gun
