    Books, Movies, Songs, Video games, news on television all have pushed people over the edge...not sure why you would want to use this thread to try to be cute in though.

  • I regularly fight zombies. My video games make me do it.

    People that blame video games look for another reason besides holding the guilty party accountable. The guy is an idiot that doesn't care about life. Simple as that. Defeating Zues in God of War 3 didn't make him shoot up a theater.

    I think public torture would work here. Terrible things need done to this man. Slow torture. Maybe a stretch rack while being water boarded. Tear off each fingernail and toenail. Cut off his eyelids. Those sorts of things. Finish it off with a good stoning by volunteers.

  • I'm not saying we should shat all over the Constitution and I completely understand (and support) our rights guaranteed to us, including the 2nd Amendment, but something has to be done. A 24 year old strapped in body armor, wearing a gas mask, tossing out smoke canisters, opens fire on a theatre full of innocent people with a gun that, from what I've read, wasn't made to hunt animals or be used as your traditional home defense weapon. I realize criminals, the serious ones, will always find a way around the law. But we've got to do something so people like this have no access to deadly weapons.

    Nothing can be done. It is our right to have weapons. Take the weapons away, crime rate will go UP because the criminals will then be the only people with guns.

    I was not blaming anything, I was simply asking if this was a scene in a video game, same as a comic book. I know someone sane it does not matter, but fact is, the things I listed earlier pushes idiots over the edge...

    Why is that? How do you think criminals get these guns? They purchase them. There aren't just guns laying around everywhere and nobody has the ability to build these weapons themselves, unlike drugs.

  • You that naive? There will always be a black market for guns. Take the guns away from people that use them for protection and use them for hunting.... then what? Only the black market has them, and criminals know potential targets have nothing for protection.

    Yes, but from where? Criminals don't always obtain them legally, like most citizens. I believe that was Mounties point. Criminals will get weapons either way. It would only be the law abiding folks that would be prevented from obtaining guns.

I hear a lot of these stories where some wacko opens fire into a crowd of innocent people. Where are all the people carrying fighting back?

The marines had just got back from deployment and had been put celebrating that night. They came home to find these two guys in their home, and were attacked. They beat the two thugs down and then shot them both between the eyes.

    Self defense. Did you hear about that? No.

    Self defense in the home is one thing (and I actually have heard quite a few stories around here, but Alabama's a small state) but I mean at these crazy scenes were some nutjob opens fire in a public place. Rarely do you hear how someone in the "audience" (to use the term broadly) fired back.

    71 Year Old Man Shoots Cafe Robbers

    It's probably time to start considering a career change when your down to robbing internet cafes and failing because a 71 year old man gets in your way. Both robbers were shot, hospitalized, arrested, then let go on bail.
