Trent Richardson....mediocre?

  • Jim Brown's words not mine. I disagree with Jim as I think Trent is a stud, but hey #32 the greatest RB ever so if he sees something I don't, who am I to disagree?

  • Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player to ever play the sport and he can't evaluate talent for shit. If he thinks TR is an ordinary back then I don't know what to tell him. If TR played against the type of players that Jim Brown did then he would have bowed them over like Brown did as well.

At least he's not a gm and makes his profession helping prisoners instead of running an actual organization.

  • Jim Brown and that perennial dumpster fire organization he played for can go S a D.

Brown might just be the overall greatest athlete to ever live but he never had to play against competition like the NFL has today from top to bottom. He wouldn't have done what he did in the sixties if he played in today's game.

  • I think he'll be good not great. Not worth the 3rd pick thats for sure. Maybe like 20-30 but not top ten.

Part of Brown's problem here is assuming that Trent COULDN'T beat out Ingram. I think it was more of a situation where they had a great OL that my little sister could have gotten 1000 yards behind, so they just let Ingram be the starter his Sr year because it didn't matter who they had back there really. Trent is MUCH better than Ingram, IMO.

Still not worth a Top 5 pick, though.

  • Some men are humbled by success and others not so much. Pele does this all the time in soccer. He acts like these world class players are mere paupers. Unless they're Brazilian then he crowns them when they are 16 years old.

Why wouldn't you pick him top five with the new rookie pay scale. Your not giving him an ungodly signing bonus and 6 year guaranteed contract. The new rookie pay scale allows you to pick the best player without near the consequence on shelf life that it did before this new CBA. Not to mention he doesn't fumble like AP and I bet that there are teams out there that wished they picked Adrien Peterson if they had that pick over.

Ingram falls into the good but not great category. Trent is on another level.

  • The top 5 rushers from last year were drafted past pick #50..

TR is a manimal and will be a great player.. Cleveland needs a guy like him playing Pitt, Baltimore and Cincy twice a year

No they will be on the same NFL level. AP is on another level.

What makes you think that about AP and not think the same about Trent? I would love to hear this one other than the fact that your team played against AP and not Trent. AP had more injury issues in college, more fumble issues, isn't as strong, doesn't weigh as much and they run the same speed. Trent blocks better out of college and catches the ball better out of college. What is it that makes you think that?

  • I respect the hell outta Jim, but he has lost his mind on this one. Richardson will be a problem in the league.

Ok first of all, AP IS faster than TR. Not sure what you are watching. He is ridiculously strong, but I will give you that TR is probably stronger. Do not tell me they are the same speed and actually mean it because that is ridiculous.

I guess we'll see. Many experts see him as a future HOFer, but some don't. No way to know for sure yet.

  • What was AP's 40 time? He's still a better blocker, had less injury problems in college, and is a better catcher out of the backfield. If you want to call AP unreal and TR good because of .3 tenths of a second (maybe) in a 40 then I call that ridiculous.

No idea, but watching them both AP looks a ton faster and runs away from DBs

Because you need at least two legit RB's on a team, and its been shown that you can get plenty of production out of late round picks. Plus, they have short careers. If you take a stud LT in the top 10 he could be a fixture for a decade or more.

TR looks for contact but don't get it twisted. He will run slap away from DB's when he wants to.

Or he could be Robert Gallery. I would say that Kalil is more of a prospect and toss up than TR is. Your not paying an ungodly amount of money anymore, so you pick the best player that fits your teams need.
