I have no doubt Tee Martin is a great recruiter but it's not exactly difficult convincing kids to go to USC.

They were getting elite kids long before Martin ever got there.

Yeah but you have to be good to pull a kid from halfway across the country with a who's who of college football offer list.

Of the three you mentioned only Redfield is "In."

I think things are looking promising for USC for Willis as well.

  • No question that USC has a lot to offer as a university and as a program but this group of coaches is doing an awesome job of communicating with these recruits and their families. Thus the great success they are having.

Sure but is that really new for SC?

Joe McKnight had a nice offer list, right.

  • Their class is really really good. I'm jealous and I think Auburn is shaping up with one of the best classes also.

  • USC will not finish 1 or win the NC. Will be 3 yrs before USC is a real contender, must get through the roster issues and restrictions. They will be in the hunt in a few for sure.

I don't know. Yes, they could have a 1 or 2 year period following this year that they don't quite have what this year's team will have, but this team definitely has what it takes to get it done.

Doesn't mean they will, but they are 1 of about 7 or 8 teams that could easily win it all this year, IMO.

  • What an incredible class, USC has assembled so far. I'm sure they will keep raking in the big time players for the 2013 class and beyond now that their bowl ban is over.

Awesome...you seem to know A LOT about the Trojans and their depth. Would you please explain to me, and obviously to everyone else, where USC's roster issues are? I mean you have this unyielding confidence in your post, and it has me shaking a little bit right now that USC's recruiting class is nothing but a house of cards. I'm really looking forward to your in-depth analysis and breakdown, Mr Gator.

    Thanks in advance.

The guy that recruited Joe McKnight was a top recruiter nationally and beat LSU on a Louisiana kid- it was tremendous. Every powerhouse program sells itself, so when you are recruiting against every top school in the country, what puts you over the top? Coaching staff.

Also, ask anybody who knows anything about recruiting and they will tell you that relationships are what lands recruits. Ramsey mentioned that more than any of the trophies in Heritage Hall when he was talking about why he picked USC.

    I'm not disagreeing with you.

I'm just pointing out that in many ways SC sells itself. History, academics, weather, being in LA. If Tee Martin was doing this at a place like Nebraska for example, I'd be more willing to call him a superstar recruiter.

JC, this is the way it's always been...it started in 2003.

According to a large and vocal conference....USC is all hype, we don't play big boy football, we cheat, we steal championships, we're arrogant and either USC is a ghetto school or a school of rich kids.....no matter who USC beats, or how many recruits we pull from wherever, we don't develop them and they all end up busts. Regardless of stats and every criteria of measurement that defines an elite program.

Sportsmanship is dead, and it's all about working the system to win, and trashing all opponents at the top of your lungs.

This is not about USC brother... USC is about tradition and location and location... This is about guys trained under Barry Every's omnipresent tuteledge. This is about one school in a large and very vocal conference out to buy undying loyalty.
