True Freshmen that have a chance to start at your school

  • Which true freshmen do you see possibly starting for in the Fall?

The only one I see having a chance at Bama is Eddie Williams (WR).

  • A few true frosh might contribute for MSU, but the only ones who have a shot at starting are these guys:

    WR Kyle Kerrick (early enrollee)
WR Aaron Burbridge (if he qualifies academically)
    WR Monty Madaris
WR MacGarrett Kings (are you seeing a pattern here? We really need WRs to step up.)

Long snapper Taybor Pepper (last year's LS was great, but he left the program to go closer to home. His backup, who filled in for the Outback Bowl, looked a little shakey).

    Final Countdown

  • Jaquay Williams, WR.

    Big A

  • None. #1 recruit in the country will mostly be handling security for Bjoern Werner's autograph requests.

umm Amari Cooper will start at Bama at WR..or does that not qualify as TRUE FR since he was an early enrolly?

I believe the difference between true freshman and none true freshman is whether he has been redshirted.

  • For Michigan it's BIG DT Ondre Pipkins, OG Kyle Kalis, WR Amara Darboh, and LB Joe Bolden.

What are the chances that Kalis actually earns a starting spot (barring injury to another player)? If I recall correctly, it's almost a certainty that he'll be in the 2-deep, right?

    Final Countdown

  • Tracy howard and Duke Johnson will probably be starting by midseason for us.

I agree on Duke but Tracy is starting for Miami by the 20th practice of fall camp. My personal opinion is that your other corners are weaker than you think AND Tracy is better than you think.

  • None really unless someone gets injured especially on the Defense. Mario Edwards, Chris Casher Reggie Northurp, and Markus Eligwe have great chances of starting the next season since the guys in front of them are all Juniors or Seniors.

He's a lock to the 2-deep, but to start he'll need to have a very good camp. He is a REALLY good OG right now and his technique is more like a college sophomore than a freshman. If he adjusts to the college game well, he could be starting by game 3 or 4.

The punter since powell is gone. He will get a chance. Also bracy might be able to grab a pr or kr job.....maybe.

Looking at the schedule, he does seem to have some chances to get experience early on. Probably not against Bama, unless the coaches really believe in the "trial by fire" method. Air Force and Umass should allow him some garbage time. @ND probably isn't ideal, given their 3-4 system, which aims to confuse the OL with blitzes... but who knows. Purdue and Illinois should be gimme games.

It's usually not ideal when a true freshman starts on the OL, no matter how talented he is. That'll be an interesting development.

I agree, he will most likely get garbage time, but he has the skill set to start. It would be ideal to keep him out of the Alabama game, but I would like to see him get some reps early in the season. Personally I would love to see him go the Taylor Lewan route and RS his freshman year to learn better technique and learn the blocking schemes.

Yeah, good call. I was on the field before the spring game and Beatty has a canon leg. Him struggling in the game must have been mental......but hey, we signed him to punt under pressure.

    For Nebraska...

I think Charles Jackson (CB) will have the best chance to earn a starting spot.

Michael Rose LB would probably be next.

Jordan westerkamp WR will play, but I don't think he will break the starting line up.

Imani Cross RB will probably see the field this year too.

All these guys playing time is dependant on how well they know the playbook. I think Jackson could see the field on talent alone, the coaches could just say cover that guy....

I also expect Bracy to share KR duties on ST with Karlos.

And re MEJ, *starting* either doesn't really apply of just doesn't matter when it comes to FSU's DL b/c there's so much rotation going on. I expect MEJ to get into the rotation; Casher is less likely although possible.

And like DL, Pender definitely won't start but I expect him to get *some* (but not many) touches... esp. since he was an EE.

Jon Bullard too. Their could potentially be a lot more Humphries, Dunker, Poole, Thompson, and Taylor all could potentially start sometime during the season.
