Ironically enough, Cox and Specht are two coaches that most Cincy fans think steer their kids away from UC. Cox is a big time OSU homer.

Steve, as you know, this was an absolutely huge hire for Cincinnati football.
Until now, the Bearcat football program has NEVER been able to lure a successful BCS head football coach to Cincinnati.
Coach Tuberville really impressed everyone in attendance at his press conference last night. I think the excitement at UC right now is very similar to when the Bearcats went to the Orange Bowl in 2008 and the Sugar Bowl in 2009.

Tubbs is genius. Keep hopping, stay fresh/new and make mid range millions, puddle jumping 2nd tier programs. He's a coach, playing the system that plays most coaches.

I never thought I'd say this about any coach here but I'll go out on a limb and say he finishes his career in Cincinnati. The new president and AD are 100% committed to winning and building the necessary infrastructure to support it. I get the feeling CTT wants to help do that. Also keep in mind his wife is from the area and her family is still here from what I heard.

Is Cincinnati making a move to a BCS conference in the next year or so? I know that Louisville is going to the ACC but I can't keep up with all these C-USA schools and where they are going or whether they are staying.

I guess you can never say never, but he shouldn't waste his time coming to far south of the Ohio on I-71. I may be a little biased. Good hire and hope to see UC continue to do well.

IMO yes, they need a spread.
They have good recruiting grounds in Cincy and Ohio, when Tress was here for some reason he didn't do as well in Cincy which has a lot of talent.
However now with Corch, he's going to hit Cincy just like everywhere else. Which ever top recruits we don't get out of Cincy, ND will due to the strong ties with all Catholic powerhouse programs there. Michigan is also present in Cincy as are all Big Ten programs.
If Tubb's can keep'em home and get out of the Bg East, they expand the stadium dramatically, and improve the facilities they could do very well long term.
That's a big if though.
The problem is coaching at UC is considered a stepping stone job, I'm not sure how long Tubby will stay after having coached big time ball?
