Its no secret that TT brass wasn't on the same page as Tubberville. He was likely looking for any out that he could get. Not sure Cincinnati is a wise decision, though. They will likely be back in CUSA once they disband the Big East.

I think this is a sign that Cincinnati fully expects to be in a new conference in 2014 and may already have an agreement in place for that.

I know it's just the Big12 and against lesser competition, but they were 12th in the nation in total offense.

They played 9 Big12 teams. That's worse than playing a MAC schedule. The Big12 has built SOS rankings for years now by playing absolutely no one in OOC games.
