Tunsil - UGA or Bama?

  • I, personally, dont believe them but we have three reputable "insiders" who think FSU is way more in it then appears on the surface.

    Cue Novanoles.

    That said, Bama stands the best chance but if Walker decommits to UF then it all goes crazy.

    Mods were saying Tunsil was a UGA lean.

    Then Henry sang a different tone, most mods said they didnt believe in package deals.

    Then Henry committed, spoke with staff, and now staff feels Alabama is in front, and so does Henry.

    Not at all. With everything that has fallen into place and the things that him and others around him has said, along with there being an opening for him to actually come in and compete from day one to start and to move to the LT position his 2nd year on campus, it just makes too much sense not to happen.

    If FSU or Florida were more involved, I wouldn't be as sure, but since he has pretty much eliminated the in-state threats so far, I have him counted.

    Nope, Henry is recruiting Tunsil to Bama. DW and Henry are really close as well.

    I think they all have links to each other tho, and DW could get LT to look at UF IF (big IF) he did decommit

    No. If you believe in package deals, it is Henry and Tunsil. I don't buy that as the reason though. I just think it is rare that any prospect can head to a team at the level that Bama is at and have a spot almost waiting for him if he is as good as advertised. Hard to pass on that along with all the OL that are heading or have already headed to the NFL under Saban at Bama.

    Bama has a lot of depth on the interrior of the OL, but is pretty thin actually at the T position. We have some guys that could be good OT's, but that are really OG's that have been moved over. Tunsil was a Florida fan from what I know, but the depth at UF at that position is solid. I think he could overcome that and beat some of them out, but if you have a chance to go to another program of that level and step into a better situation, that is hard to pass on, IMO. It's one thing to be in a stable of RBs or WRs as 3 deep get playing time, but along the OL, you either start or wait your turn.

    I'd feel like that would have to happen fast seeing how we're neck deep in trying to get Trenton Brown. I think Bama should feel safe that Tunsil just isn't coming to UF, even if Walker flips.

    Very good post, IMO. I don't ever buy into "sources" as much to what you can see.

    OT is a big need for Bama right now and other than some solid guys committed that could play OT, we aren't going after any other big targets at that position like we would or should if the staff didn't feel very solid about Tunsil.

    They were both at the Opening is Oregon from July 5th-8th and both visited UGA together last year on November 12th.

    Not sure if those are the only 2 times that they have been together or not, but they have definitely been at those 2 locations togther in the last 10 months or so.

    False. Tunsil skipped The Opening. They were at the SPARQ combine in Orlando together, though.
