  • Great fight so far. Can't see how Jones is able to throw elbows like that. Very Anderson Silva-like. Extremely impressive. Gotta hand it to Evans though. He's taken some serious shots and is still there.

  • Jones would get his ass kicked as a heavy weight because he won't be bigger and stronger than everyone. Everyone fights him wrong they all stay outside they need to go Mike Tyson on his ass and get inside and brawl and not be afraid to be knocked out.

    I dont like him but i dont think he.woukd get dominated. And yeah, you have to take a chance and apply pressure. Jones and silva have freak highlights because people sit back and pretty much.let them cause their too defensive. IMO

  • Just about every fighter outside of the heavyweight division cuts about 20-30 pounds before a fight, just so they can make class. Why on Earth would anyone expect Jones to not do the same and give up the advantages that make him such a special fighter?

    It'd be fun to see him fight some heavyweights, but I'm just sayin'. It'll never happen.

    I think he could beat the middle class heavy weights but I think the best ones would kick his ass. I just do not understand why everyone tries to fight him from so far away when he has a 10 inch reach on everyone you do not have a chance of hitting him from the outside and it just makes it easy for him. I am not saying it would be easy or that someone would win if they got inside but it would at least give them a chance of landing a shot. I would like to see Machida get another shot he looked good against Jones until he got caught in the choke.

    Which would make him an extremely small heavyweight, in fact the smallest guy in the division without even cutting weight. Most light-heavys walk around at least that big, shoot Rampage was often 250+ before training camp started. Rumble Johnson is as big as 230 and just recently started fighting at 185 from 170. Silva is 210 or so, St. Pierre is 190-195. This has been rehashed on every single thread about UFC, but how exactly does Jones have some kind of unfair advantage when he actually cuts less weight than most people? He is just better, way better, than anybody else in the division.

Pretty much all fighters are that cocky, you have to think you are the baddest SOB on the planet otherwise you aren't walking out.     i'm no expert in weight loss methods or gain methods, but I imagine bones could put on about 10 pounds if he wanted to fight in the HW class.

    Jones has an advantage because of his extremely long arms, couple that with the fact if he put on about 10 pounds it would make him 236, which is 2 pounds less than the champ Dos Santos. And apparently weight doesn't make that much of a difference if you are just that talented, see Cain v. Brock.

    I believe you know my background when it comes to this topic.     I agree everyone(or most anyways) has an advantage. Evans is stronger, but he didnt look it last night. I just want to see him fight people who have a shot at beating him. No one at LHW does. Fwiw i think st. Pierre and silva.should move up.
