It means that Michigan doesn't lose that much to the draft/graduation this year, and Michigan clearly plays at a level very close to South Carolina (as is evidenced by the Outback Bowl), so I would expect Michigan to be ranked slightly behind South Carolina. Thus, if South Carolina is 14, I expected Michigan to be around 20-23. The fact that Michigan isn't on the list is pretty silly.

Took a while before pre season voters gave up on UM. They were always preseason high....VT is getting the same treatment..now...the respect game is over.
