USC 2013

  • I know its way too early, but what will USC look like next year? Wins & losses???
    Some notes:

Even if Woods leaves, Agholor is big time & we will be fine.

MaX Wittek is our new QB, big time talent.

New DC, realisticallyif its a good hire we should be a 20-30 ranked Defense, not ELITE but good.

Lane is still our coach FML

    Schedule

    Utah ST - W

    Notre Dame - L

    Hawaii - W

    Boston College - W

    AZ ST - W

    Ucla - L

    AZ - W

    Colorado - W

    Utah - W

    Oregon ST - L

    CAL - W

    Wash ST - W

    Washington - W

10-3????? SOUnds like a best case scenario, but with LFK as our coach 8-5 is also possible. Its crazy our fan base forgot Kiffin was our coach, Monte was ALOT to blame for fielding crap D's, but a lot of the losses are on Lane also. 2 weeks ago, everyone wanted LANE FIRED!!!! Now a lot of fans are saying he will be a GOAT & at USC for a long time, mehh not buying it.

  • Depends if Kiffin hires a OC to run the show. The defense will have new life.

  • We don't play Washington and Washington State in the same year during the regular season. You somehow forgot Stanford, whom we play every year. So replace Washington with Stanford on your schedule.

  • Way to much talent to think anything less than 9-3. Had some bad luck this year and injuries.

I guess it depends on the Defense and the new coach.

  • Not going to predict a record. But an early preview.

Interior Line: Good pass rushers and one gap penatraters, but lack that big space eating run stopper
DE's again solid but not great against the run, but with Breslin and Kennard coming off the edge, USC may be able to boast of having the best pair of pass rushing ends in the nation.

Linebackers. We need to find out early, hopefully in spring if Dawson is going to be our man in the middle, otherwise we move Pullard to Mike, and open up the competition at Will. Baily returning at Sam. Overall should be a very solid group, though a bit undersized.

Secondary. Robey coming back will be key, then we need to find another corner to step up. Not concerned about the safeties. Would still consider the secondary as a question mark at this time.

Offense. yes we lose Barkley, but I think our offense will be better in 2013. Kiffin will not be able to rely on throwing the ball around as much, and we should be better for it. Best pair of TE's and best group of receivers in the nation. Offensive line should be improved.

  • @LScootU I agree, LSU loses a lot on defense so 8-4 seems like a probable record for them.

Not gonna lose as much on defense as people think. Mingo and Montgomery are the only locks to leave and even though DE will be a major concern at the start, when has LSU ever not had a good group at DE? Rasco and Danielle Hunter will be fine there. Depth, now that is an issue.

You think Williams moves outside next year?

I like Ruffin and Prevot as situational pass-rushers at Will, with Townsend working in more to stop the run.

Think Dawson will improve with a more attack based scheme that doesn't drop him way back into coverage.

Our D-Line will be pretty damn deep next year.

I think Williams is solidly a 3 tech.

Not going to count on unproven players at this point in time. I see Townsend as getting a major role as a SDE, then on 3rd down having both Breslin and Kennard in at end.

This is going to be a make or break spring for Dawson. If he is not up to it, then I think we need to commit to Pullard at inside, then opening up the SAM competition.
