USC Top NFL football factory of all time?

I give the nod to Miami because they had more quality players... but I guess quantity is pretty impressive...

Miami has had a nice run since the 80's, but that's it. Believe OP was talking all-time..

Eleven. More than any other university....by the time the miami players catch up, we'll have more added...it will be a big catch up.

    Hall of Famers by College

    Southern California (11)
    Notre Dame (10)
    Michigan (8)
    Ohio State (8)
    Pittsburgh (8)
    Alabama (7)
    Syracuse (7)
    Illinois (6)
    Minnesota (6)
    Oregon (6)

Miami now has 5 (Cortez was just inducted), and we have guys like Junior Seau added to the list before long, with three other Trojans nominated, ie Tony Boselli.

Seau no doubt, but Boselli didn't play long enough to get elected into the HOF. Very unfortunate, but that's the truth. Anyone else for USC coming up for election over the next 3/4 years? ND has three very good candidates with Bettis, Brown, and Young. Don't know if Young makes it anytime soon, although he was one of the best DL for a long time in SF. Did much more than his numbers show..

  • Eh not to bad .. FSU at 227. Especially since most of those schools have at least 50 years on FSU.

Also the Jeff Bowden era ... Dude just killed offensive players.

Salisbury ? If he went to FSU i would do my best to keep it a secret

    Rob Johnson ? lolz

Carson is the only semi decent player, everybody else defines bust, douche or combine for all the terrible attributes you could think of

    RB U ? Why ? Cause Reggie finally got 1000 yards ?

Michigan has the title of Offensive line U. I'll take that.

    Really?
    You sure about that?
Because I can name over 20 First Round Trojan O Linemen since Ron Mix in 1960
Four of whom became Hall Of Faners and a fifth, Tony Boselli who almost certainly would have
I will give you Steve Hutchinson. Dude is a First Ballot guy IMO
I am in no way dis-respecting UM either, too much history between
us and I consider Michigan USC's equal in stature and tradition
They call us Tailback U, and that is great, but it is O Linemen and Safeties that USC really set the standard for, and I dont think it is close
    Ron Mix
    Ron Yary
    Mike Taylor
    Sid Smith
    Marv Montgomery
    Pete Adams
    Steve Riley
    Marvin Powell
    Anthony Munoz
    Brad Budde
    Keith Van Horne
    Roy Foster
    Don Mosebar
    Bruce Matthews
    Ken Ruettgers
    James Fitzpatrick
    Dave Cadigan
    Pat Harlow
    John Michels
    Tony Boselli
    Sam Baker
    Tyron Smith
    Matt Kalil

And probably another 15 or so second rounders

Near as I can tell Michigan had 12 during that same period
    Don Deskins
    George Gemul
    Tom Mack
    Bill Yearby
    Paul Seymour
    Mike Kenn
    Jon Guisler
    Steve Everitt
    Trazelle Jenkins
    Steve Hutchinson
    Jeff Backus
    Jake Long

I will include Dan Deirdorf just to keep it real

Oh yes....even with USC falling to one of it's lowest ebb the past few years, two offensive linemen were selected in the top 10 two years in a row. Tyron Smith started as a rookie (and did well), and reports out of camp is that Matt Kalil is living up to the hype, like big brother Ryan Kalil.

USC has an outstanding history in producing the Big Uglies in the NFL, at the highest level.

Montana is arguably the greatest QB of all time. Few QBs can be mentioned in the same breath as Joe - Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are the only two, but I think Joe is slightly above them. Have to give the Domer his due, a lot of successful QBs out of a lot of programs will never reach that level.

Along with Boselli, Clay Matthews Jr was also nominated, I have to think who else, but there was one more that has been nominated a few times.
