USC and Bama fans: Dee Hart transferring?

  • Seems like there are rumors that Dee Hart may be transferring from Bama to USC. Any truth to it? I'm not surprised at all if true. IMO and JMO Dee Hart never really fit in that system. When Bama flipped Yeldon it seemed like that would happen sooner rather than later.

Why do they recruit speed backs if they don't fit in the system... makes no sense.

I think more of it had to do with seeing if he would switch to a different position IMO. They seem to recruit speed backs almost every year and I have yet to see one actually pan out there. Some kids need to understand they are a fit for spread and not pro style offenses. Same with some defensive players being fit for a 3-4 compared to a 4-3. There's more of a difference with speed backs in a spread compared to a pro style though. That's why I'm a little worried about our RBs this year. I don't see a guy that can fit a pure pro style on our squad yet. Hopefully Loeffler won't go completely pro and it doesn't seem like he will.

I think Mason is best equipped, would you agree? I agree with you on kids not getting it.

    Jovon Robinson, IMO.

    Big A

  • I would be surprised. He had a good showing against the 1's at our spring game. He is pretty much in a 3 way for 2nd string back(At least right now) one injury to Lacy or Fowler and he is trying for a first team position.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Completely agree. Mason IMO is our best "power" back on the team right now. Hopefully Jovon can come in and prove himself as a true freshman. At the RB spot that isn't unheard of at all. RB seems to be the position that has the least amount of transition from HS to college.

    Nevermind, saw kite's response...

We don't run a spread offense fwiw, but could use some more backs since we're lacking in depth...

Yeah I agree. Have you guys heard anything about him maybe transferring to you? Also do you know how it would affect your numbers under the probation thing?

First I've heard of it... I doubt it's true... Looks like thread disappeared on bol14.

  • I really doubt USC would take Dee Hart given his injury and scholarship limits.

Any idea how many RBs you plan to take in this class? And is it fair to assume a Dee Hart transfer would cut that by one?

    Dead heat IMO.

Next season Hart may even start.

I highly doubt Hart tranferring to USC is true... I'm pretty sure it would not affect Issac's recruitment if that is what you're inferring.

To answer the question USC is looking for 2-3 backs this year... Hart wouldn't be eligible to play this season if he transferred.

Ok, thanks. No, I wasn't suggesting that if you took Hart you wouldn't be able to take Isaac. They are very different types of RBs. But you are right that I was asking because of the competition for Isaac. As we go forward, it helps to know how many RBs you plan to take when reading the tea leaves. If the number is two and you accept two other RB commits before Isaac decides, that is generally a good sign for us. Likewise, we are probably taking only one more RB in this class. If we accept a commit from another RB before Isaac decides, that is a bad sign for us. That sort of thing.

I think they are about on equal footing honestly. Yeldon is the better player, however Dee has good skills himself and he has more experience. It will depend on how well both of them block. Last year we were saying similar things about Dee as we are with Yeldon.

Yeldon will absolutely be better eventually, but right now Dee is in a good position IMO.

I agree. I think people(Not directing this at you Kite at all) forget how much Hart impressed last year.

Agreed, everyone wants the true freshman to start.

I think Dee could be a great change of pace back for us this year and if he puts on some good weight he could be an every down back for us next year.
