USCe Fans... Question...

  • Just how crazy is Criag Fitzgerald? A week ago he out in a t-shirt and shorts for the 5:30 AM workout. It was 30 degrees outside. cold That was after his 4:00 AM personal workout.

  • He's ridiculous. Y'all got a damn good one, there.

  • He always did that. Granted it wasn't as cold in Columbia, but I don't think I ever saw him in long sleeves unless it was a press conference.

    He can also fly.

Your team in the 4th quarter will never be worn down. You will end up having the best strength and conditioned team ever and most likely in the big ten this year. The guy knows how to motivate players as one poster has already stated.

  • Out of the 5 coaches we lost, he was the biggest hit, IMO. He is a good one.

  • Thanks fellas, we are stoked. Even in his short time here, you can tell that the guy is a beast.

  • Do yall (penn st fans) know if he is going to implement his summer games?

He basically chooses a certain number of team captains and they pick teams of 4 or 5. They compete in various competitions throughout summer work outs and have a point system. Points can be earned or deducted for a number of reasons. At the end of the summer they have a big finale competition.

It is by far the most interesting/entertaining strength program I have ever seen. I really hope that our strength coach keeps it going down here this summer.

I haven't heard anything about that, but it would make sense. He already has our guys doing tug-o-war and wrestling, and he has said that he is big into incorporating competition within his program. Sweet, this is something I will definitely be looking forward to.

I wish I could find it (on work comp) but there is a video of some of his workouts online. I would try YouTube. Those things are intense. It's really more of a highlight reel of the stuff he had us doing during the summers and it was really fun to watch.

I've got to agree with Stouds. Ellis was a close 2nd, but Fitzgerald completely changed the program.

I was talking with one of my Carolina buddies the other day about this. He believes that Carolina has recruited superior lineman to Clemson. While I agree that your d-line is very good, and definitely better than ours, it wasn't that way 2 or 3 years ago, it all goes in cycles. As far as the o-line, we are recruiting the same type players, difference is up until last year we had a terrible o-line coach, and we still have a terrible S&C coach.

The point of all that rambling, was that Fitz completely changed your program. I'm not saying his replacement won't be just as good, but he's got to be one of the top 5 guys in the country at his profession.

O line has a lot to do with Elliot. Both in development and evaluation. Main reason he was just offered a lot of money to head to Florida. Most people would say Ellis is a top 5 D-coord too. I'm sorry, I'll never put a S&C over a great recruiter/position coach and top 5 D Coordinator. Fitz did great things at S Car, but if I had to pick between those three fitz would go.

We will have to agree to disagree. I've seen what a terrible S&C coach can do. We've seen it at Clemson the last 15 years. I would take Fitz over anyone on your staff.

That is exactly what we have had for the last 10 years or so... a terrible S&C program. I haven't seen our team push anyone around since the 90's. Our old coach used HIT, and it sucked. Zero olympic lifts and very little free weights. Honestly, our guys could have probably completed their workouts at Curves with the old program. no

Another issue that we had with our old S&C coach is that he was 100% against suppliments including simple protien. Our guys had to take stuff on their own, and you could tell. We are so glad to be DONE with that BS... even better to have one of the best S&C guys in the country.
