Under Armour Day 2: Five Surprises

After two days of practices at the 2013 Under Armour All-America game, five prospects have shown more than expected - in different ways.

  • In regards to Marshall this is his second time playing receiver his entire career. He has always been a QB so catching is not his strongest attribute. He is tremendous with the ball in his hands. Wish he was having a better showing catching the ball though.

I think it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing, and in what role. I really, really like him with the ball in his hands too - won't be surprised to see him take some hands offs from the RB position at the next level, even in a part time role in that regard.

The goal is for Marshall to play in the slot in the (infamous) Percy Harvin role. Many of Harvin's biggest plays were handoffs on jet sweeps and counters after motioning into the backfield. I fully expect Marshall to receive a large percentage of his touches on hand offs or bubble screens, especially at first as he works on developing his hands. Urban knows how to get the ball to his playmakers and give them a chance to make something happen.

Don't disagree. That's where he will excel at the next level IMO.

Just to be clear on my end as things get taken the wrong way...

A Percy Harvin role for Marshall. In no way am I saying he's to the talent level of Harvin.
