Unions suck

  • wps88 said...

They're stupid and too extreme, forcing their bosses to close the company. This makes the head honchos move their companies overseas where people aren't little babies and whine about everything. There's a reason why the CEO is a CEO. There's a reason why you work in manual labor or on an assembly line. Respect them. Do your job. Shut up.

    (this isn't aimed at you)

Excuse me... This post is pure bullshit. To say someone is in a manual labor job for a reason I really hope your not saying that they aren't good enough to be the CEO, or on the board of trustees or an executive. You honestly sound like a person who is a first time supervisor of a union group of employees. It isn't like a non union workforce. Learn the game, it isn't hard.
I work for a union (my company has 50,000+ employees BTW) and hate it. I actually hate all unions. No one has to be accountable for their actions because the union is there to bail them out. At my place of employment the union breeds laziness...

I remember when the auto bailout was happening it came out that something like $ 2,000-2,500 per car went to union retirement pensions. Like JC said years back they served a purpose but now adays all they do is push up the cost of goods and make it harder to do business. The Sandy incident was awful. A state turning down help bc they weren't union workers while people were freezing to death.

The "Sandy incident" you reference never actually happened.

Huntsville, Joe Wheeler utilities deny claims of union discrimination during Sandy response (update)

Two area utility systems - Huntsville Utilities and Joe Wheeler Cooperative - mentioned in media reports claiming their crews were not allowed to help with storm aid in New Jersey because they were non-union said this morning the story is untrue.

  • Free handout Lazy Americans should love high paid CEO's - their Tax is funding Obamacare, Obamaphones, Obamafare, and Obamahousing.

Their only requirement is to leave the house once every 4 years to vote to keep their free ish.

Are you trying to say that the average American worker is no better than a trained monkey?
If so, you must be in favor of jobs going overseas.

I do agree with JC though especially with business nowadays.

If jobs going overseas increases the competitiveness of American businesses and, as a result, increases the standard of living in the US, then yes, I am in favor of jobs going overseas.

It's not walmarts fault . It's the low wages outside of America and trade policy

But we keep shopping at walmart. People lose their jobs(like my husband did yesterday) and we are forced to shop at places like walmart to try to save every penny we can.

There was a time and place for Unions. That time is no longer here.

Not really. Very skilled workers still benefit from unionization, but there aren't many of those anyways.

Great! Taxes lead to the demise of lazyboy. Used to be a great company, an iconic brand. What part of Michigan taxing companies to move out of state don't you understand.

megaphone Taxes weren't the reason La-Z-Boy went to High Point.

La-Z-Boy stock is now trading at $15 per share. Earnings are way up. They are doing just fine. Thought I'd share the info and basic common knowledge.

If you have a problem with michigan, that's fine, but, to make ish up about a company you KNOW NOTHING about makes you look silly and petty. Have a happy day, brah

I would argue that the more skilled a worker is, the less a union does for them. Unions prop up the worst workers and put them on par with the best workers on the pay scale.

La-Z-Boy has NOT had a factory in the state of Michigan in over 50 years. Thought I made that clear. And they aren't, never been union.

    Try another company................
