VA guys...

  • What is the inside word on the 2014 five-stars? Blanding, Hand, and Brown all in the top ten of the class. Unbelievable.

  • Blanding's HS is very pro-UVA. He likes UVA a lot, but there's an opening if UVA really struggles again next year.

    It will be really tough to get Hand away from VT and Bud Foster. Bama and a few others have a shot.

    Not sure on Brown.

    So pro UVA that EJ Manuel went to FSU

    Hand is a VT lean, a heavy VT lean imo

    Blanding is all FSU imo

    Brown is too early to really call, considering he has offers from almost everybody

    I like Hand a lot, but Im not sure he is a consensus #1 player just yet, personally I like Lorenzo Carter better for now

    Getting a few kids doesn't mean you are pro-UVA

    All pipelines don't send everybody to one school

    FSU has signed a buttload of First Coast kids in the last few years ( have singed IIRC 5 or 6 since 2007 )

    Yet have missed on a few of the big names to power programs, I expect this to be the case with Blanding

    He might choose to stay home, but there is no denying FSU is a better option for him and he clearly loves what FSU offers

    Brown Bama/VT/Uva in that orderorder
    Blanding uva...if Uva starts slow or has a rough year, then FSU
    Kamara Unc
    Holmes VT
    Moss VT/Uva battle...anybodies guess right now

    Blanding's coach resigned about a month ago. I don't know much about the new guy other than he was on the staff previously. While the former coach was pro-uva, it's the 7 on 7 coaches that are the ones steering kids to uva. Most uva fans say Blanding's heading to Charlottesville; however, those outside of C'ville feel FSU is a big player in signing Blanding. If uva has another horrid year, I don't see where uva will stand a chance of getting this kid.

    Hand likes Foster a lot.....has said he's his favorite coach. Hand has mentioned he likes Michigan's staff the most. Nobody in Blacksburg feels Hand is a lock to VT...or anywhere else for that matter. Hand's a pretty smart kid and by all accounts is handling his recruitment like a seasoned veteran. We're keeping our fingers crossed but it's a long way from when he'll announce.

    Brown's a bit of a mystery.....nobody appears to have a real line on Brown at this point.

    So if he does pick FSU it has more to do with what FSU does on the field

    I would almost guarantee UVA has a horrible season next year, too many ACC teams are coming on

    They literally have no chance of being better than VT, FSU, Clemson, UNC and Miami in 2013... They will be lucky just to not finish dead last in the coastal

  • Kamara prob Uva unless Uva struggles.
    Brown, Uva same as above. Likes Unc and Bama with VT in the mix.
    Hand Likes Vt but I have a feeling he goes out of state.
    Blanding Uva Same as Brown/Kamara. I doubt committs to Fsu in March. Fsu is in the mix. I see Blanding committing to Uva in August.
    Holmes I think is Vt's to lose.
    Moss either in state school.

    Don't listen to Nova, huge VT homer. lol

    VT in as good of a position as they can be with Hand. Damn sharp kid, and damn talented. Hope we get him, but he has to be #1 on every major school's list. Narrowed his list to 5, and made it clear there is no favorite. Has said Bud Foster is his favorite recruiter.

    Blanding will be interesting. UVA seems ceratin he is UVA, FSU seems certain he is FSU

    Not a clue on Brown. Seems very open right night, and not leaning anywhere at this time.

    I'd bet money all those kids don't stay in state. I'd be surprised if half of them stay in state and that's being generous.

  • Reports are coming in that Hand is transferring to Friendship Collegiate Academy(Eddie Goldman, Jalen Tabor, Yannick Ngakoue, Derwin Gray's school) next year, so even though he's from Virginia, he'll be shown as a DC guy on the rankings.

    Now Virginia only has a measly two 5 stars.

  • A good couple of visits to Michigan for Hand could help us a lot. As noted he really likes our entire coaching staff and wants to do engineering. It also now helps that Derrick Green committed who is said to be a good friend of Hand's. He is coming for the ND night game this year as well. I think he is all VT if we're not able to overtake them.
