My bad, posted the title incorrectly. They excommunicated the girl's mother and the doctors that performed the abortion. Doesn't make it any less sad, IMO.

He also said the accused stepfather would not be expelled from the church. Although the man allegedly committed "a heinous crime ... the abortion - the elimination of an innocent life - was more serious".
What the hell is wrong with people? Told you BamaLives, execution is only answer. TIme to start clearing the earth of these animals.

Let me clarify - I'm more disturbed by the fact that the church essentially says "rape is bad, but not quite as bad as her having an abortion," even after the doctors say that she could die in childbirth. Now they're going to cast out the girl's mom and the doctors that may have saved her life, but not the man who raped and impregnated her?

funny...catholic church helps cover for priests that molest little boys by shipping them to other parishes where they continue to molest little boys, but apparently according to the pope god is cool wit dat. why he no excommunicate them?

Formal cooperation in an abortion has always been an automatic excommunication. Nothing new about it. Correct decision. The evil of a rape does not excuse the greater evil of an abortion. And, yes, the abortion is without doubt the greater evil.
