  • Ok good i wasn't sure if anyone over on this site did i know there were a few on TOS. I have played both of the Bad Company titles but never any of the actual Battlefield series since i am not a computer gamer. I have a PS3

    It is looking good. I can't wait to see some of the multiplayer. The single player for this looks interesting but the multiplayer is where it is at.

  • That is what i am most interested in. If the Dice made the single player look like that im with you their multiplayer will be lights out that is what they are known for after all. i am kinda disappointed about the consoles not having 64 players though

    64 players is tough for consoles to handle. The few games that have attempted it have suffered with sluggish frame rates and lag issues. I hope they can at least get it to 32 but it looks like it is going to be 24.

    Traded it in after week. Same thing from COD every single game. Not to mention it is waaayyyy too kid friendly and easy.

    Bad Company 2 is a great game. The Battlefield is so huge, and the game is the most balanced shooter I have ever played. The graphics are great. That said, Battlefield 3 will destroy it in every way. The first time ever using the Frostbite 2.0 engine. It will be the best shooter ever on PC, and it will push consoles to their limits.

    Aussie, I look for consoles to have 32. I think they are waiting to surprise the console crowed.

    I hope so. I know it can be done. KZ2 did it and run fine. I am not sure why KZ3 went to 24.

    For the guy that asked about Black Ops pretty much same answer as marine. I traded it in pretty quick. I don't expect to get another COD game anytime soon. They are the same thing every year.

  • I don't think I have ever anticipated a game more than I do for Battlefield 3. I really believe it will be a ground breaking FPS based on realism and how smooth it should be.

    It seems like they fixed everything that was wrong with MW2. What don't you like about it?

    Its kid friendly.

    Very fast paced
    Aim assist
    Tiny maps
    high explosives so tubes get spammed
    limited options as far as gameplay. Its pretty much infantry, and thats it.
    Killstreaks that promote camping
    Perks that are not balanced
    6 vs. 6 gameplay makes for boring play
    teamwork is non-existent. Pretty much lone wolf which is boring.

    I like a game where you can show off skills. The Battlefield series gives us those games.

    Bullet drop
    Realistic movements. Not moving at 100mph
    teamwork oriented gameplay because of squads
    12 vs. 12 gameplay on huge battlefields
    4 classes with each class having its own responsibilities.
    There are many, MANY different ways to help your team win and earn XP. COD is just kills.
    Vehicles. Learning to fly the chopper was one of the proudest moments I have ever had in a game.
    air, sea, and land battles
    No aim assist.

    I could go on and on, but you get the gist. Different strokes for different folks. Kids dominate the COD market for a reason. Its easy.

    Pretty much all of the reasons mountie listed for me as well. After I got a taste of Bad Company I could never go back to COD.

    On a side note Crysis 2 multiplayer is awesome.

    I meant Black Ops. I should have worded that better. It seems like they learned a lesson with MW2. Black Ops is a lot more balanced. I hear good things about the Battlefield games though. I've just never picked it up.

    Black Ops was more balanced than MW2. It still just feels like the same old game though. LIke marine said there are no vehicles or different classes. I can only do so much running and shooting before it gets boring and I want to do something else.

    You should give Crysis 2 a try. It has a COD feel but a lot more fun IMO.

    Black Ops is the same game with a different skin. WHen is the last time Activision/Treyarch did anything to their graphics? I'll tell you. 2005 when they were developing COD4. Why is that? Because since they gear the game towards kids, it always sells like crazy, so why spend money to upgrade anything? Just slap a new name on it, make new maps, add a few weapons and sell millions.

    The Battlefield series has used 3 different game engines in their last 3 titles because they are always upgrading. They also give out their DLC for free. FREE. COD is up to 1200 MS points per map pack. That is 1/4th the total cost of the game for a map pack.

    Just a few examples of why I prefer DICE over Treyarch/Infinity Ward.

    I'm done talking about it though. Don't want to argue. Like I said, people like different things. Many people don't like Battlefield because you actually have to have skill to be great at the game. That is the dead honest truth.
