    The chip is what brings out the visuals that displays on the screen. $80 for a graphics card is laughable anyway you look at it. I'm not asking for the newest card, but something a little better than a card that is currently outdated, let alone for 2013.

    Oh well. Like I said, I will still buy a PS4 whenever it releases. I will just be smart enough to realize I'm getting ripped off.

    It is going to be about the level of a mid range PC right now which is what I always expected.

  • I know you can replace the d-pad and analogs with PS3 ones, but what about the buttons? Also, what kind of triggers does it have?

    The buttons are not replaceable. It would really matter anyway. The buttons are about the same on both. Not enough difference to matter. Not sure about the triggers. Looks like a bit of a hybrid between PS3 and Xbox.

    I also like how you can change the weight in it. I like a little heavier controller.

    I don't believe that. Not at all. That chip is from what? 2 years ago? Consoles make a KILLING. They can afford to give us a better card than one that is already outdated.

    Nearly all profit is made from the actual game sales. Last I knew, Sony actually takes a loss for each console sold with the expectations that you'll buy enough games to cover it. I'm not sure what those profit margins look like now though.

  • Also, I'll go on record and just say I'm not ready for the next generation. I'll probably buy a new console shortly after launch, but I can't say the same for a lot of the people I play with regularly.

    That card retails at nearly $80. They need to make these consoles for around $300 to make a profit. They aren't going to do the same thing as last time and lose money on every console sold. The chip is only one part of the console.

    I agree I think it is a smart business decision by Microsoft and I think the PS3 will do the same because they will want there system the same price as Microsoft just because of how they fell behind this generation compared to where they were the previous. Lets be honest not everyone is nerds like us they care more about gimmicks and motion controls and buying the same game every year and less about graphics and innovation. I get mad at Microsoft myself especially with Kinect but it has been very successful for them and to be honest most people who play games do not even care or know about exclusives. They just want the new Madden and Call of Duty every year and they are happy.

  • I like the UFC Undisputed 3 demo. The extra time they took to create it actually made the game better IMO. I am excited to play the full game and see if they made improvements everywhere.

    Consoles are going to be a ripoff going forward. Release is basically a year and a half away and they won't even attempt to go with the 7k series?

    You will literally be able to build a PC with the same power (likely more) for like... 2-300 then....

    Yet I will still buy them because of the console exclusives. Especially the Playstation. Sony has the best stable of developers in the business.

    The exclusives are awesome, and really the only reason to own one. I will be building my PC as soon as I get this job. Guaranteed.

  • Nowadays, I prefer most games on console. The only games that I still play on my computer are RTS games. Consoles will just never have the type of control needed for them.

  • I agree with that. Games like starcraft are the only ones I play on computer. Everything else I prefer on consoles.

    I have a hard time mentioning any newer game, because I think a key component of an all-timer is how it stands the test of time.

    I will however jump on board with Mario Kart. I have loved every single iteration of that series. Fantastic games.

    They have fixed a lot of the issues with leveling.

    Of course there are still exploits to leveling but you can't just sit in a corner and spam spell to level up.

    I think it is much better than any of Bethesda's previous games.
