Really all I want is a sequel to KOTOR. I want to know what happened with Revan.
The online portion of the game really has no interest to me. I never stick with any game for an extended amount of time outside of Battlefield.
Other than that I jump around to different games in different genres. I love them all.

Just finished AC:R. The wrap up of Ezio's and Altair's stories was great. Very interested to see where Desmond goes next and who the next main character is (if it's one of Desmond's ancestors or Desmond himself). I won't spoil anything, but I'm a little underwhelmed by the location found at the end of the game and really hope it only plays a small part in the sequel. Not as good of a locale as Constantinople, for example.

I do not think the PS4 will be released until atleast a year after the new xbox maybe longer just off the rumors I am hearing but I really have no clue. PS3 is just now picking up steam and doing really well. I have a hard time seeing Sony release a new system when they are just now starting to really make a lot of money on the current one. I would actually prefer if they waited and Microsoft and Sony would start releasing new consoles about half way through the competitions life cycle. It would make it easier to own both and it would seem like you are upgrading hardware at a better rate. If this happened you could upgrade hardware every 3 to 4 years besides every 6 to 8.

I don't think it will be announced at this years E3 from what I have read. If that is the case I seriously doubt that it comes out in 2013.
I think we are looking at 2013 for Microsoft and 2014 for Sony.
There have also been rumors that one of the big 3 will stop making consoles. Out of all of the big 3 I could see Sony stop making consoles. They have a good stable of developers and could just become a publishing company.
Nintendo isn't going anywhere because that is all they do. They don't have any other divisions like Sony and Microsoft.

I love my playstation, but reducing the number of consoles from 3 to 2 could be both good and bad. Good: Less worry about porting from one system to another and more friends to play with instead of being across two consoles. Bad: decreased competition can lead to lower standards.

Casual gamers are killing the industry for us hardcore games. Most casuals only care about COD, motion control dance games, and downloadable games from our smart phones. I like some of those things as well but when the entire industry makes nothing but that and loses focus on the hardcore it starts to suck. With Kinect being so popular and rumors that Sony will do something similar to it I think hardcore gaming will eventually die out with just the franchises like COD, or Battlefield selling the same games with imitators following them. The PC may be the only thing that saves us from all of this.

Hardcore games won't go anywhere but like you say PC might be our haven.
Hopefully Microsoft gets their head out of their ass soon about Kinect. Nobody cares about that POS. Since they announced that thing their games library has been a joke. I have only bought a couple of Xbox games in the last couple of years because there just hasn't been anything that appeals to me.
Even one of Microsoft's core franchises in Fable has been getting way to casual and from what I have read about the next Fable it is going to be worthless.

I agree with almost everything you have said other than people do care about Kinect. The problem is it is not gamers it is the casual audience. The worst thing for us true gamers is the success of the casual IMO. People who want a Xbox 360 and Kinect so they can dance to Dance Central. I hate Kinect with passion and honestly I have jumped more towards being a Sony fan again because of it but as a business stand point it has been a success. I hate everything with motion controls. This years E3 will be one of the more interesting ones we have had. It will be interesting to see where Microsoft is heading with the new console. If the focus is on Kinect I am done with them. I just hope the rumors are not true with Sony building there version of Kinect with the PS4.
