This is true but what is sad is the damn Wii has sold more than the 360 and PS3 combined I think. I hope Microsoft is holding back exclusives for the new Xbox which is also rumored but if they are Kinect exclusives I will be done with them. This generation has been crazy with the Wii really dominating up until the last two years. It started with 360 having all the exclusives and now PS3 has them all. If the PS4 will come out releasing games like it is now I will for sure buy one over the 360. The problem is the 360 had all the better games on release it will be interesting to see how this next generation plays out.

The Wii is barely selling at all now. Plus their software attachment rate is horrible compared to MS and Sony.

MS just keeps doing things to piss me. I have never really liked how they handle things. They nickel and dime you every chance they get. One thing I love about Sony is they allow you to use external hard drives and things like that.

I have a feeling MS will keep force feeding us the Kinect. The rumors are the next gen Kinect will be bundled with the Xbox at launch.

Just look at a game like Ryse. That game looks really interesting except for it is being developed with kinect in mind.

Like I've said previously, the real money for console makers come from the game sales. Wii's profit structure is slightly different given the cheapness of its console, but when it comes down to it, if you don't sell games you aren't going to make money.

Yep and Nintendo's profits are way down this year.

Yeah, so many of the people who bought Wii's are like my parents... whose Wii gets used once every three months.

I've contemplated stealing it just to see if they notice.

Wii is pretty much done with now but it sold so much already I doubt the PS3 or 360 ever come close to touching it and I really do not like the Wii even though I have one. I would prefer to still own a PS2 over a Wii. I agree I am worried about it myself about the next xbox being focused more on the new kinect. Ryse could be the big exclusive Xbox needs with Crytek being the developers you know it will look and play good but if it is a Kinect game like it appears to be then it will just be shyt and I will have nothing to do with it.

I would even go so far as to say I'd prefer to have a super nintendo, an atari 2600, and a stock pile of games for both over a wii at this point. Past wii sports golf it just never grew on me. It sat in my entertainment center for a year without ever being powered on. Sad really.

    Oh absolutely.

The Wii has about 5 games worth playing. Both Zelda's, Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bro, and both Mario Galaxy's. So I guess 6 actually.

Rune Factory Frontiers was win but it just got old quick. I did buy the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles "My Life as a King" game but it didn't hold me either. About that time I moved to PS3... Arkham Asylum, Mirror's Edge, Killzone 2/3, Resistance 1/2 (which to this day I still think is a great story). The Wii only ever came on when company was over. Then it just never came on even then.

Yep I loved the story to Resistance. Still haven't played 3 yet but it is on my list.

I have contemplated buying a Wii solely for the virtual console and any game with mario or zelda in the name, but I have never actually pulled the trigger.

Resistance is probably the only reason I'd ever buy a console again.

Love the Resistance franchise, but to me R2 was a disappointment. R3 was better than 2, but still didn't live upto the precedent set by R1. I love the offline split screen on R1 and still play it with a couple of my good friends when we have a chance to get together.

Don't buy it for the virtual console. Just download an emulator on your PC.

In my opinion, the moment in R2 when you first come out of the tunnels and see the chimera laying waste to San Fransisco with the revelation that they are now mobile en masse rivals any moment of epicness in the Halo story. It felt doomed from there. I though the second game was pretty awesome. I felt like I was fighting a lost cause. I haven't played R3. I got rid of all my consoles several months ago and quite frankly this thread has been the only real game discussion I've had in the last 6 months save some World of Warcraft conversations in the office.

Then it appears I have no reason to buy another PS3. Thanks for the find. +1

I loved that scene. I think it is a very underrated series. The visuals could have been better but still great.

  • I like Resistance but Halo is way better IMO. The sad thing is nobody bought the last Resistance game and it was really good so they will probably not make another one. That is a problem with a lot of the PS3 exclusives that are really good. Outside of Gran Turismo, Uncharted, and God of War they sell poorly. Same goes for 360 outside of Halo and Gears nothing sells but Sony has better overall exclusives but Forza and Alan Wake are really good games that do not sell what they should IMO.

I didn't care for Halos story at all.

    Just a personal opinion though.

  • I like Halo's story but the multiplayer is way better than Resistance IMO. It would not surprise me if it is already hard to find a game on Resistance 3 multiplayer. Resistance is a good game though IMO and it sad they are not going to make them anymore. Sony owns the rights so maybe they will give it to one of there better developers. I love Killzone maybe Guerilla could make the Resistance games too.

I was just basing it off of story. I didn't care for the MP on either one.

The only MP I have ever been able to stick with for longer than a day is Battlefield.

  • Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is looking promising. I was not happy when I first heard they were making changes to the series but it still looks like tactics will still play a big factor. I was worried they were going to make it run and gun.

I played the first two Rainbow Six games for PC, but after that, I haven't really touched any of the Tom Clancy games.
