    Meh, no need to go all Flight Simulator 3000 on it. I bought one under $50 back when I played IL-2 Sturmovik and it was life changing.

    Meh, I just purhcased a 360 controller for it today. I was pretty good at flying both heli's and Jets with a controller on the PS3. Just ask Tusktiders how good I was taking the Havoc/Vipers and flying them under the street signs on Firestorm roflmao

    Use that IP, and then add... :25565 on the end of it. No spaces.

    Did you give the server a Static IP Adress and forward that IP Adress in the router? Something like 192.168.1.1 with a Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a Gateway of 192.168.1.0.

  • I just said forget it. I had my internal set up with your normal 192.168.2.2. My static IP was set up, and sf2k4 had it so he could connect. The gateway wasn't being used for anything. Gateway isn't used when setting up Minecraft server. External, internal, and port is used. I did all the port forwarding in my router. I enabled his username in my files. I was on my server, it was at 5 full bars and running really smooth. For some reason, he just couldn't join. Hopefully I'll come across someone that wants to play, and they already have a server set up.

    A gateway address is always used when you have a computer or server behind a router that is trying access something outside of the routers network. It's the address other devices uses to get to that device.

    For example my PC right now is.

    192.168.1.136
    255.255.255.0

    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    It's basically your router IP Address.

    You had full 5 bars because you probably connected to it within your LAN. Had like a 1ms ping rate.

    Say I wanted to access someone's Minecraft server. They would need to give me their static IP address. That is all I need to access it.

    I watched probably 20 videos of people setting up a Minecraft server, and each one said Gateway is not needed for anything. Ipv4 IP is needed for the server admin to access his own server. Then, he passes out his static IP to whatever members he wants to have access to it.

    Yea, that would be all you need. But when they're setting up the servers IP Config, you just need to set the routers IP Address as the Default Gateway address. They don't need it, but your server will need it.
