IMO if Sony comes out after Microsoft it will have the stronger console but not by much and probably less than the difference between this generations. I expect Sony's next console to be around $300 to $400. I do not think either will cost as much or be as big of a increase in graphics as people expect. The economy is hurting right now and coming out with a extremely expensive console is not smart because not only will people not be able to afford it they will not be able to afford to make games that are capable of the strength of the hardware. Graphics are not as important to me as is game play. In some ways a console too strong eliminates a lot of the smaller companies who can not afford make triple A games for next gen because of cost and that leaves us with just the franchise games that EA and Activision put out.

You could be right, but Sony put a hefty price tag on their last two launches before they finally came down in price. I could easily see them doing the same again. If they come out with something less than 500... Those sorry beeecthes will probably have only a 20 or 40 gig hard drive.

The Vita is failing miserably right now. After E3 it seems like Sony is already giving up on it and that is sad because it looks awesome for a hand held. The PS3 is having success now but as a whole it has been a failure. You can not honestly tell me that Sony would had been in 3rd place in sells before this generation started and anyone would had believed it. If they put out another really expensive console they will fall apart which the company as a whole is already doing. Sony makes some of the best products in the world but there marketing and decisions are killing them right now and if they do not change they will not last much longer.

unless things have changed, everyone i knew in college played video games (almost to a fault). and that was up to 23-24 years old (like i said, almost to a fault).
and gaming has increased in popularity since then. i seriously doubt that it's abnormal to play games at 22-25, much less 20.
besides that, i quit caring what people thought about me in highschool. if i enjoy it (games/tv/movies/sports), if it's comfortable (clothes/furniture), etc. i will get it/do it. don't give a shit what others think.
why any adult would care what others think (besides business reputation) is beyond me.
