Interesting alleged leaked document regarding the next Xbox.

Interesting if true and it looks like it could be.

  • How much is a iPad or a cheap computer? Why shouldn't it be 500+. if you want your video games to be based on 4 year old tech so be it. If not, get with the program

Because its $60 a game, and probably more once new systems come out.

You don't spend nearly that much on computer stuff.

I can build a computer for less than $500 to play any pc game I wanted.... No way in hell am I paying that and $60 a pop for a game... If you could get some real value for game trade ins... maybe it would be worth it... And there's not any games worth playing on a iPad...

Probally so. I honestly expect the price of Sony to start no lower than 599. I'd end up buying both eventually, but I always wait for the Sony's price to drop before I purchase one. I will not buy one when they first unload them.

IMO if Sony comes out after Microsoft it will have the stronger console but not by much and probably less than the difference between this generations. I expect Sony's next console to be around $300 to $400. I do not think either will cost as much or be as big of a increase in graphics as people expect. The economy is hurting right now and coming out with a extremely expensive console is not smart because not only will people not be able to afford it they will not be able to afford to make games that are capable of the strength of the hardware. Graphics are not as important to me as is game play. In some ways a console too strong eliminates a lot of the smaller companies who can not afford make triple A games for next gen because of cost and that leaves us with just the franchise games that EA and Activision put out.

Maybe but if there is not a visual difference then people aren't going to upgrade.

You could be right, but Sony put a hefty price tag on their last two launches before they finally came down in price. I could easily see them doing the same again. If they come out with something less than 500... Those sorry beeecthes will probably have only a 20 or 40 gig hard drive.

there's not that much difference from some of the games coming out now (or soon, like the last of us) and watch dogs and star wars 1313, which are both very likely going to be release date games for the new consoles (already heavily rumored that they'll be announced again next year at e3 along side the new consoles).

but the interactivity and gameplay for those should be much improved and more immersive.

jmo, but graphics doesn't need a huge upgrade. i'm sure there will be one, but it doesn't have to be massive.

There will be a difference just not a huge one like it has in the past. You will get games like the Witcher 2 on a high end PC or Crysis 2 or maybe even Watch Dogs. There is a good difference but nothing too far from games like Uncharted 3.

The Vita is failing miserably right now. After E3 it seems like Sony is already giving up on it and that is sad because it looks awesome for a hand held. The PS3 is having success now but as a whole it has been a failure. You can not honestly tell me that Sony would had been in 3rd place in sells before this generation started and anyone would had believed it. If they put out another really expensive console they will fall apart which the company as a whole is already doing. Sony makes some of the best products in the world but there marketing and decisions are killing them right now and if they do not change they will not last much longer.

There is still an enormous difference between Witcher 2 or Crysis 2 on a high end PC and a console.

I know the next consoles won't look like a high end PC but I am hoping for at least a mid range PC. With devs optimizing games for consoles that would be some nice looking games.

Vita not selling well(its almost at 3mil in 4 months) has more to do with Tablet computers than anything else IMO. Handheld gaming is not what it once was and it is crazy that the Vita does not run very many apps and has very very bad browser. With as much as they partner with Google its crazy it does not have the stock andriod browser in it and a google play store support. Very bad decision by Sony

As for the next round of Consoles, WiiU I will pass and nothing will get me to buy it. It is basically a ps3/360 in terms of power. Their online and store is still pretty bad even with improvements and the new controller does not even have multitouch capabilities..in other words it is 10 year old touch screen tech

New Xbox I expect to go head to head with Google and Apple for set top boxes, I am thinking of buying a good chunk of Microsoft stock as I think the next Xbox will lead the way in Microsoft gaining back a lot of market share for tablets, set top boxes etc.. with all the streaming services and partnerships they are offering. New Kinect will be much better and I could see many average people owning one just for video calls, ESPN3, HBOGO, other new streaming services etc..

Sony really cant compete with software so they need to focus on what they are good at. Games..make it the most powerful and get all their studios pumping out games. They might stay in third in terms of hardware sales indefinitely but they have a chance to be first in game sales. Market to what you are- hard core gamers that buy games. Microsoft and Nintendo can go after casuals and make tons of money. Sony can make great money as well if they do not try to be all in one but focus on what they do best.
With that said- If Sony does want to compete in the all in one living room experience then they should partner with Google or Amazon or both. Hell give apple a call. They are not enemies with these companies like Microsoft is and they could use that to their advantage. I fully expect GoogleTV to be on a ps4, its on a lot of sony Tvs already. But Sony already missed out on that opportunity with the Vita and may make the same mistake twice

    Rant over-

I will be Next Xbox and Playstation in almost any case. Will never by a WiiU

  • unless things have changed, everyone i knew in college played video games (almost to a fault). and that was up to 23-24 years old (like i said, almost to a fault).

and gaming has increased in popularity since then. i seriously doubt that it's abnormal to play games at 22-25, much less 20.

besides that, i quit caring what people thought about me in highschool. if i enjoy it (games/tv/movies/sports), if it's comfortable (clothes/furniture), etc. i will get it/do it. don't give a shit what others think.

why any adult would care what others think (besides business reputation) is beyond me.
