Someone on ign is doing a diary on their playthough of souls, and they have said it is an open world similar to that of the elder scrolls games. You can go wherever you want, the difference being the enemies don't level with you.
I haven't watched much video on skyrim and haven't seen any actual gameplay footage, but it was the game i was most looking forward to this year.
My friend agrees with you cooter and Aussie that skyrim looks like it will be the better game. I haven't done enough looking into either game... Will probably watch video of both. It would be nice if from software would release a demo of souls... I don't see bethesda releasing one for skyrim.

Enemies do not level with you in Skyrim like they did in Oblivion.
Also there is about 20 minutes of Skyrim gameplay on YouTube. You should definitely check it out.

I also enjoyed jade empire. The game could get incredibly deep if the do do a sequel.

Me too...until they fix the Sawed off shotgun in GoW3 Im having a hard time playing that so I'm a little bored.

I have not played the 360 in a good 6 months. I went up to Blockbuster and rented the game with idea of having a good game session. I put it in and was completely board. It was just like Gears 1. Nothing wrong with that but I wanted something new and not an extension of a game I already have.

The entire Gears series is a remodeled version of the Unreal series (which is much better in my opinion).
