That game is going to be amazing. I can't wait to get a TBB squad and play some BF3.

Yea.. wow. that game looks insane.. You can fly jets and stuff in it too? I might pick up bad company 2 just so I can get the feel of the game. I've been a COD guy, never played any of the battlefield games.

Do yourself a favor and get Bad Company 2. I can't even play COD anymore. After having 32 player battles with tanks, helicopters, guys riding around on ATV, and Snipers taking shots at your from 500 yards away it is hard to go back to the little bitty maps that COD offers.

Pick up a Battlefield game, get used to the game speed and all the little things. You will never look back to COD. I guarantee it.

    Jets
    Huge.... HUGE maps.
    Bullet drop
    No aim assist
    Choppers
    Tanks
No killstreaks because everything is already on the battlefield for you to use
I have never heard the voice of a child on the mic. Not once.
Destructible everything. If you can see it, you can destroy it.
Teamwork oriented. With the maps being bigger in this game than they were in BC2 teamwork will be even more important.

There are too many things to name. Might take you awhile to learn how to pilot the chopper, but it is so rewarding when you master it and have a good gunner in there with you.

Aussie, you are my gunner. Me and you = terrorism on the rest of the Battlefield community.

once PSN is back up and running I'll make the purchase for sure. I need something new anyway, Black Ops was a real disappointment imo.

DO you not have XBOX? I think most on this board are getting BF3 for XBOX.

  • I am an excellent gunner. Good to hear I finally have a pilot. I could fly the hind and the apache pretty good but I couldn't get the hang of the blackhawk.

If you get Bad Company 2 for PS3 add me. My username is the same as on here. I will be getting BF3 for xbox though so I can squad up with TBB.

Gunner gets most of the points anyway. I'm anxious to see how the jets are. Are there two seats?

I may have PS3 again before this game launches. Had one, but sold it because I rarely played it. I might get another one so I can play BF3 on both consoles. I'm sure some people on here don't have XBOX.

  • This is Battlefield 2 jet gameplay. This game was released in 2005, and for PC only. I can't wait to see some epic dogfights!

I have been curious about that as well. I haven't read anything about it anywhere.

I am excited for E3 next month because they are suppose to show off the multiplayer.

Most important detail to me is...

    How many maps
    How many weapons
    What kind of destruction engine

Is it still destruction 2.0? I believe BC2 had 14 maps, and that was a good number, but with this being a true Battlefield game I expect more. Game modes don't worry me. As long as there is Conquest, that is all that matters. Conquest is the game mode that shows how Battlefield is supposed to be played, IMO.

I used to dislike conquest but now i enjoy it thoroughly, however, i play rush a lot also because i feel like i can have a larger impact on the game and help control the outcome if i have terrible team mates who never do what you ask of them

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

That is why you always need to squad up. Rush is very narrow. It puts limits on the player and leads them right into choke points. Conquest is wide open giving the player more flank options. Conquest also has the vehicles. Battlefield 2 had Conquest only. Rush is a newer mode, but will make a return in Battlefield 3.

I try to whenever the game will actually find people who want to squad up. Mostly though i will play with my friends that i personally know which is a good portion of my playing time. It is just those few times whenever i am facing an awesome team with a terrible team that refuses to squad.

K/D means little in Battlefield games because there is so many ways to help the team. I would take the medic with a .85 K/D that knows how to play his role and he revives people to save 20 tickets or so over the sniper with a 3.0 K/D.

I believe I had somewhere around a 1.4 K/D but I didn't keep track of it very closely. I am an engineer almost exclusively. Love being the guy that has to take out the tanks, choppers, ect... I am a repairing fool as well.

Some of this was discussed in the issue of Game Informer that came out a while back.

    It is destruction 3.0.

Not sure about the number of maps. That wasn't mentioned.

As far as weapons they didn't give a number but said that it would be a lot more than BFBC2.

I believe I had a K/D of right around 1.0. I did a lot of running around. I played as a medic a lot running around throwing out health packs and reviving people. Not bragging but there were times I was the sole reason my team won because I revived so many people. There would have been no way we would have won without me keeping people fighting.

I also played as engineer a fair amount. I loved throwing out anti tank mines in high traffic areas. Tanks didn't know what hit them. A lot of multi-kills that way.

I also played as recon a lot but not always as a sniper. I would play with a shotgun and get up close and personal. I loved the motion mines and if you used the mortar strike effectively you could cause havoc for the other team.

Yeah engineer is my favorite for sure(XM8 Compact is the GOAT). I, like you am not trying to brag but a lot of time i would have to pull my team through with 40 and 50 kill performances just by guarding the flags or objectives. Does anyone else go Iron sites all the time with nearly every gun? Once you get used to them you never want to use any scope again.

I switch back and forth depending on what I am going to do. I use all the sights a lot.

Agreed you have to switch classes depending on the level or situation you find yourself in. There are a few weapons such as the AN-94 Abakan that require a scope because of the terrible Iron sites

Yeah I hate the iron sites on that gun.

  • I always use iron sights. I always felt like I was giving up the specialization slot by picking a sight. I would rather have the higher explosive damage(I play engineer).
