    Okay, I'll admit, the campaign in Halo 4 is too short. For $60 it should be twice as long. However, for the length that it was, it was FANTASTIC. Easily on par with Halo: CE IMO, potentially better. Even if it's not as long, I got that awe inspired feeling again I hadn't really gotten since the first Halo. And after the ending (no spoilers) I even felt my emotional investment in the series get reinvigorated. It may not be a perfect product, but 343 told a damn good story in it. Looking very forward to 5 and 6.

    No excuse for a campaign that short. Halo was always a phenomenal story that people got invested in. I played CE, 2 and 3. I stopped after that because they went away from Master Chief. All 3 were amazing campaigns. I hated Halo multiplayer, so I only bought it for the campaign and never regretted it after I finished it.

    All MP games do that now though. They pop out a 6 hour story.

    I never cared in BF because BF used to be MP only. So I could not care less about single player in BF.

  • There is so much content in Halo 4 it is hard to complain about anything being short. You also have Spartan Ops which is already the length of some campaigns in just the first episode. You also have multiplayer with tons of customization you just have to keep playing it to unlock everything. You have Forge where you can create your own maps. It is a lot of bang for your buck.

    I hated Halo multiplayer , but loved the campaign. Remember, Halo CE came out before XBOX Live was big. To play multiplayer in that game, it was by LAN.

    What about Halo MP don't you like? I only ask 'cause you just posted earlier ITT that you were buying BO2 because you wanted an arcade shooter, which Halo is. Hell, it's basically CoD in space now.

    Half-life is campaign-oriented though. It's long, its detailed, its dramatic, its emotional.

    After playing this Halo, I can't say its oriented either way, but the campaign was a tad short given the unfinished nature of multiplayer.

    The high jumping(people do nothing but jump around), and you can't look down sights. I mean, you could... With a battle rifle. You had to click down on the stick, then it would zoom in... I mean really look down sights.

    I was just mentioning Halo 'cause he said he didn't understand why anyone would by a shooter for SP.

    I don't think there is a game out there that delivers a campaign for shooters worth $60.

    Then you have never played Half Life or Bioshock. Both of those were amazing stories that were lengthy.

    Haha. I've already played those. I should clarify. There isn't a shooter out there "in the style of Halo and Call of Duty" with a campaign worth $60.

    While they are shooters, I don't even consider Half-Life and Halo similar, but that's probably just me.

    I realize the campaign was way too short, but I think it's better than some of y'all are giving it credit for. The storytelling done even in the abbreviated timeframe was really fantastic I thought. Especially what is going on with the Chief and Cortana (again, I won't spoil anything). The set pieces were pretty impressive and the immersion factor was great, from the inside-the-helmet PoV to all of the "interactive cut scene" elements (I don't know what the official term for those are). And let's not forget to mention that the in-game cutscenes and ESPECIALLY the CGI cutscenes were phenomenal looking.

    I'm not saying we should overlook the fact the campaign was too short, but there are games out there that are longer that don't come close to the overall quality that Halo 4 put out. It was a short but very sweet ride IMO.

    When I talk shooters, I mean multiplayer oriented games. BF, COD, Halo, etc.

    There is a difference with Metal Gear, Bio Shock, UC, and those games. They are known for their single player.
