  • Haven't played all the maps, but none stand out as large. I don't think there has been a "large" map since World at War, but then again that game had vehicles.

  • Just ordered the Hardened Edition off Amazon. Comes Thursday.

    Anybody here played Zombies yet?

I've heard from multiple people that it is hard, stagnant, and is a huge letdown.

Thats depressing to say the least.

  • Been watching the roommate play Black Ops 2. I haven't bought it yet, and probably won't be getting it. Tbh, I really don't see how it's any better/different from the original Black Ops. Campaign still looks like a mediocre Michael Bay movie (seriously, what's up with the Reznov idol worship? He was cool in WaW but let it go already). AI is crap. Characters annoying, predictable. Online looks the same with a few class setup tweaks.

I get the idea that no successful game changes very much between releases. And Black Ops was definitely a success. But this honestly looks like the same game that was shipped 2 years ago. No structural change. That's not always bad, but usually when there's not very much change, the developer waits at least a few years between titles, or addresses the flaws of the previous title.

I just don't get the hype.

Only got a chance to play the zombie game where its team vs team survival and it was nothing special. I haven't got a chance to try the other modes.

  • My thoughts on multiplayer so far. After playing the battlefield series for the past two years, it's taken me a while to get used to the speed. I'm up and down right now and have a negative kill ratio. One domination match I'll go 36-11, the next 15-25. I like a lot of things about the game, but you still get the occasional douchebag with a rocket launcher or camper in the corner. The maps are tiny, and I mean tiny. I think my favorite COD was World at War. Mainly because the maps weren't so small (except for Dome). It's hard to play headquarters on these maps. I also felt like I played the same maps over and over. I was pretty sick of the train station and cruise ship by the end of my playing time. The 10 point layout is a great idea, and I like the perk layout. The guns are pretty legit with the subs being a little overpowering right now. The LMGs are worthless IMO. You can't bring them up fast enough for this type of play, and the size of the maps make them and the sniper rifle pretty ineffective. All in all it's what I thought it would be. I'm enjoying it.

I hope the DLC's have some bigger maps included in then to make them somewhat worth buying.

I'm not a big fan of huge maps, but small maps are a pain in the ass when it comes to spawn killing/trapping.

  • I hadn't played halo since halo 3, but 4 has exceeded my expectations. The multiplayer is fantastic. Regardless of playstyles the emphasis on teamwork has increased quite a bit. The lone wolves get picked off pretty quickly. I'm really enjoying it.

I'll end up getting it, but I know it won't touch Red Dead Redemption for me.

Not as far as story goes. I don't think that is even possible for me because I love the western genre so much.

Still as far as just an overall gaming experience it will probably be better. This game is going to be absolutely enormous.

I've pretty much only played the Tranzit gamemode of zombies. While its different, its very fun. Its annoying at first because you have no idea what is going on, but once you figure out what you need to do to improve the chances of you surviving longer, it becomes fun. As in, when you figure out how to upgrade the bus, and what parts you need/where they are/what mods to build its fun. Plus there are a ton of different places on that map to go instead of being confined to a certain area.

Greif seems alright, pretty much teams of players against zombies to see who lasts longer.

Then the standard mode that is the same old story. I'm not sure that I enjoy the maps, but I only played it once so it may change.

    Ok, thanks.

Only three maps to start, right?

    Its close....

I got the RROD of 4 times, so I knew what to look/listen for. As soon as my next XBOX started making that noise, I took everything XBOX that I had and traded it in to Game Stop. They gave me enough to buy a new PS3 and a couple games. Best trade I ever made. I do miss Forza, though.

One of my Xbox's has been making that noise for 4 years now. It has been replaced countless times but surprisingly this one has held up for a long time now.

It's not that type though. I know exactly what you were talking about. I just watched ten of the same videos about what you mean and its not my "click". My brother had it vertical and I turned int horizontal and it stopped. It must have been a gravity thing skipping the disc when it started.

Damn gravity. Always showing up where it isn't wanted.

  • I never had an issue with 360s... not monetarily anyway. I had one of the first ones from launch so I got free maintenance for life. Had to send it back twice for RROD but it was free, so, no big. Bought one of the slims a couple years ago and have had zero problems with it.
