Video Game Thread: Retired

  • Next week I am getting God of War and the following week I am getting Gears of War and The Walking Dead.

  • The Show is amazing. Everything seems revamped and better, if that was possible. Lighting, physics, presentation... just magnificent.

    Batting is better. They really pit emphasis on whether or not a player is a push or pull hitter. The way the ball comes off the bat is better, and makes for more varied hits. Tons of new commentary, and the crowd/atmosphere is the best of any sports game I have ever played. Camera angles/views when you get a hit and small things like that are done very well.

    Will give a short review of Tomb Raider later tonight.

  • To add to my previous post, they changed Guess Pitch. Now, if you don't select the right pitch AND location, you don't get any indications. Like if I pick a fastball down low, but the fastball goes high I wouldn't get an indication that the pitch was going to be a fastball at all.

    They did this to compensate for the easier hitting this year. Something to get used to. No big deal.

    EVERY associated with digital, SOME associated with disc. We knew GameStop and the like's days were numbered, but I think we can officially start the clock. And it's a short, short countdown.

    Eh. It'll basically be the exact same as it has become late in this generation. Lots of PSN titles and most main titles will be available for download as well.

    I personally will not be downloading titles that are available via disc and I can only assume most people will do the same.

    I actually stopped by Gamestop to get Tomb Raider on PC. They didn't even have it. They cost themselves a sale. I will just download it.

  • The new Sim City is pretty good. I'm enjoying it. The system of having all electrical, water, and sewage lines go by the streets make it very seamless to upgrade the city. Doesn't cost anything to do zoning. The global market is extremely useful. Allows you to import supplies for your specialization in case the land you have doesn't have. You can also borrow and share resources from neighboring cities controlled by other people.

    I like whole game. The only gripe I have right now is the limited plot sizes. They're not really big enough to build a metropolis like I was hoping. Hope they release some bigger plots soon.

    Tomb Raider on PC is absolutely stunning. One of the best looking games I have ever seen. I hear it might be the best looking console game to date as well.

    I never got me3 either. It might be my favorite series of this gen but I lost all my saves when my last xbox broke. I got it on ps3 but had to replay 2 again and I never got around to getting all the way through it again. I like the way the saves carry over so I want to finish 2 again on the ps3 before I get 3.

    IMO EU gets much better deals than we do here on PS+.
