And why should there be an age limit?

Should there also be an age limit on posting on a message board?

Limit = no. BUT, they could put a minimum age allowed to post and negate 80% of the posts on here. Hell, Rivals would shut down its site due to no subscribers.

This is @Clemson and his "TV is more educational than video games":

Tell that to my little brother who plays them aaaaaaaall the time to the point to where all these God of war and other mythology games have increased his vocabulary and reading skills to where he scored in the top 3% in the nation on his English part of his Pre-FCATS and is getting attention from Duke to begin taking college classes before he graduates HS.

Play some beach volleyball or track and field on the sports games and get back to me. Nintendo 64.. lmao.

Why not just go outside and play volleyball, run, play baseball, etc. instead of playing it on a gaming system.

  • I played baseball with friends all the time growing up. Also played football for 10 years. Ran track as well. I also played video games growing up. Its the same thing as watching tv, but you control what happens.

I talk to aussie, callen, joester, hoffelcopter, and many others on a nightly basis while playing. They have taught me some interesting curse word combinations so i think it definitely helps my social skills. How does watching a movie help social skills?

I never said it did. I was just making a point. Why not go do something outside, join a gym, play a sport, go to happy hour, etc. instead of playing video games every night.

Congratulations to him, seriously. But color me skeptical that God of War is the reason he may get accepted to Duke. Ha.

I have a good job and work 9 hours a day, sometimes when you get home the last thing you want to do is go run around.

And man, happy hours are just oh so much better for you. banghead

Contrary to popular belief it is quite possible to do both.

I play golf four or five times a week and still play video games and still go out on the weekends.

It is just something to do to pass the time. There is usually never anything worth watching on tv.

I just think it is foolish to tell someone how they should spend their free time.

I typically play softball in the summer, but I have too much going on right now to be able to commit to a team. Pretty bummed out about it.

I work from 7:30 to 5:30, and 99% of my posts come during that time.

Believe me, when I get off work the last thing I want to do is get on the computer or play Call of Duty.

And I sincerely hope you are not comparing playing video games to watching college football. Apples and cinder blocks.

How so? What's the difference in watching the tv rather than interacting? You are doing the same thing either way, sitting on your butt.

    How old are you?

Razors are nice. Maybe a nice flip phone will help your manliness.

  • I thought videogames akin to playing GI Joes, Barbie, or watching cartoons. Eventually, you mature, and move on. So, as the OP said, by 12-15 yrs of age, you're done.

My 18 year old son has proven me wrong - as he not only plays videogames for 20+ hours over a weekend, but researches how to win at them.

Personally, I find nothing redeeming in videogames. They're worthless, inane, and a monumental waste of time. There's a whole generation of boys who are stuck in childhood.

You shouldn't use a phone, you should go run and tell him in person.

Watching college football is superior to playing video games in every way. I'm not even going spend time explaining the difference.

    I am 24.

  • My life consists of school, work, binge drinking at bars, and video games.

All are possible. Though I won't play The Show after I've been drinking because it kills my batting average
