    Seriously, every single one of these kids laughing in this video needs some serious discipline. Jump to 4:20 in the video for the most f-ed up comments.

    Here's another link for some context - 16yo girl was gang-raped by Steubenville High football players.

    At least there was someone in that video that said it was rape, it was wrong and that he was going to kick Maliik's ass.

    I think there were references to 'the rape crew' in the assault video. I have not watched that though so I can't confirm it.

    I think it's just shameful that a kid had to be the one to say that, and not either of the two assistant coaches of the football team who came into contact with this situation during that night.

    Not to mention that those coaches were having parties where alchohal was being served to minors, and the girl was obviously not in control of herself. Just a complete moral break down all the way around. Nobody stopped it. It wasn't being done in secret, it was wide out in the open.

    There's simply so much blame to go around. The fact that people at the party didn't stop what was happening and then let the guys take this girl with them when they left the first party is just disgusting. I can't imagine standing by and letting a girl get violated like that.

    Just by the way it was written/worded, a lot of that sounded bogus. How could the one kids gf be charged with conspiracy to commit rape/kidnapping ? Perhaps she helped get the girl to the party but I'm sure she had no idea they were going to rape her. Heavy drug use? More than likely that's fancy talk for smoking pot. Also do we really believe people actually talk in third person ? "Nobody breaks up with Cody Saltsman"... That in & of itself is a crime.

    I honestly have to say that there is very little that people do to each other that surprises me anymore. I have no problem believing that that girl knew what was going to happen to her "friend" and went along with it.

  • If you look at this from a macro level, it sure seems this type of behavior is not seen as uncommon among those in the community: coaches, players, parents, etc.

    That observation makes me think there are probably more incidents that have gone by and never gotten any news. I mean, how can one be apathetic or flippant abt a girl being raped?

    The night of partying at the high school level, at different houses (including coaching houses) is a major red flag. Lack of parenting... poor job of supervising by the coaches... terrible.

    Not taking anything away from what happened or saying that the verdict should have been any different but what was being reported before about "vicious gang rape" and drugging her then passing her around at parties seem to be grossly overstated.
