Waaay Too Early 2013 Recruiting Team Rankings Finish

  • zabba said...

USC can sign up to 18 because of EE's remaining but It will be tough to finish top 10 on 247. 10-15 range depending on how many we sign sounds about right.

USC is also getting some quality walk ons. Ryan Dillard a corner from Georgia was recruited by some Big 10 teams, went to Yale and has now transferred to USC. He was a two year HS AA. This is the second walk on in a few weeks that may actually see the field.

Doesn't matter on the recruiting rankings but it matters at what counts, viable bodies on the field.

Not much man in the final stretch of exams, done real soon. What up with you?

Yeh man, our schedule is tougher than last year that's for sure. lol

I think we will be better with a worse record, as tough as it is to be patient that's what I am trying. Michigan is just not very deep or particularly talented in the trenches, for us to win tough games consistently that needs to change which it is IMO.

Games are all winnable, but losable in the same token. Especially on the road, where Michigan was 2-2 last year.

Can't fricken wait until September (and November obviously) this schedule will be a lot of fun to watch.

ur right, tough schedules can suck record wise, but nothin beats the anticipation of those big games...

we lost to texas and usc but it was great to watch, and better then beating kent sate 48-0...

we play a home and away with oklahoma soon and that will be awesome!

    good luck with exams!

Yeah, I saw that earlier. We could really use some quality walk-ons.

I don't particularly care for rankings, but getting quality players, especially the ones I covet...

  • I'd be happy with a top ten finish this year. I think we will only sign about 21 though.

    Top 10 I got:

    1)UF 2)OSU 3)Bama 4)Texas 5)Michigan 6)UGA 7)FSU 8)Auburn 9)Clemson 10)LSU 11)ND

Edit: moved Clemson to nine and added ND at the end.

Clemson always seems to get some guys at the end and finish up there, especially this year with shots at guys like RN and MA.

I would swap out UF at #1 and replace with either tOSU or Bama. I think tOSU and/or Bama will finish 1 & 2.

    JMO.

No way OSU finishes #1 with their limited numbers and lack of highly rated targets on the board.

You may be right. But stranger things have happened.

BTW, I don't think UMich drops to 5. I think you guys at most drop to 4, but more likely finish 3 IMO.

And I wouldn't consider Jaylon Smith (hopeful), MacKensie Alexander (doubtful), Ethan Pocic (likely), James Quick (likely), Von Bell (likely -- visit blew him away above all else), & Mike Heuerman as a "lack" of highly rated targets.

Forgot Shelton Gibson. More names are popping up but don't know our positions with them. It's still only April and we're looking good to finish out the class strong.

Another new name popped up today as having strong interest in us is Devaris Brunson (LB, Lake City, S. Carolina 4*).

We'll see, most of Michigan's commits will get a boost in the rankings by the end of their senior seasons, especially players like Dave Dawson, Ben Gedeon, and Gareon Conley.

there's a chance for PSU to crack the top ten if they can nab a few more 4stars to this class

Possible...I think we'll end up around 15. If we can manage to pull Foster and Dorian Johnson in...then top 10 is realistic.

Smith is all ND at this point. Pocic could surprise some, I think he likes Illinois more than he lets on, plus his brother plays there.

I only feel good about the top 3. Massington stays in Big 12 country if you ask me.

Where? UT and Oklahoma haven't offered (and UT looks like it might already be full at WR). WOTS is that Massington is waiting on an offer from USC, but with USC's scholarship situation that might never happen either.

    Ty Isaac - 4* RB
    LaQuon Treadwell - 4* WR
    Henry Poggi - 4* DT
    Joe Mathis - 4* DE
    Eldridge Massington - 4* WR
    Christian Lacouture - 3* DE
    Tashawn Bower - 4* DE
    Kendall Fuller - 4* DB

Bold - As of right now Michigan is in a good position.

Michigan has around 7 spots left. I'm sure we're going to hear about guys later that we have no clue about right now.

Also, Alquadin Muhammad - 4* DE

Agreed that USC offers, he is heading west. Outside of that, I just feel the kid stays in Big 12 otherwise.

Will OSU's class be big enough to pass Michigan's?

Probably not. Depends on if Urbie has the stomach for more housecleaning. Right now, it looks like they could top out around 20. Michigan will take 23-24.

I believe 247 only factors in the top 18 commits anyway for their rankings so it doesn't benefit huge classes. Could be mistaken, but personally I think yes they will pass up.

That is incorrect. The way 247 does it, each added recruit adds marginally less but they all add something.

This. Look at the Hurricanes class last year. Terrible average rating per recruit for a top class, but a ton of kids.

Check the explanation under team rankings. The weight under after a teams 16th commit is worth practically nothing.

I'm just telling you what I heard from the staff last year, pretty sure they had a cut off (18 strikes a chord) so it didn't favor teams filling up with huge numbers.

Go back to your hole. You may finish in the top 5, but the DAWGS will lose twice in Columbia in 2012.

    CockedLocked

  • I expect Notre Dame to be a top 8 recruiting class. We have a lot of spots due to transfers and small recruiting classes.
