Wait, How much did Michigan beat SC by again?

Michigan the 3rd best B1G team?

    LULZ

They didn't even cross the 50 in the 2nd half against The Ohio State University.

And OSU scored a grand total of 6 points (two FGs) off Michigan turnovers in the second half. OSU's vaunted Urbtastic offense isn't anywhere close to living up to the hype, but go ahead and keep believing anyway. As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss.

    This is true ^^^

You mean the 5th best team in the B1G almost beat the 10th ranked team in the country = Overrated

Umm, that will be the #7 ranked team in the country at years end(only poll that counts) Congrats on getting ass plastered by GT

Did you win the conference though? How's that bowl game going?

    Yea, the season doesn't count.

Edit: if it counts, it doesn't matter. that's for damn sure.

We went undefeated in conference play. So whether or not you place value in the term "Big Ten Champion" or not, 2012 tOSU > the rest of the 2012 Big Ten.

"The season doesn't count." LMAO, it's like hearing a little kid complain about losing a game of hide and seek. "I didn't find a hiding place before you counted to ten, so you finding me doesn't count!"

and still managed to beat Greg Mattison's amazing D calling after only 1 year in said offense. Sad day for scUMmers, realization of beatings to come must be a harsh reality.

Smart enough to count to 14, the amount of wins in a true undefeated season, one that actually matters and counts.

I believe Michigan has beaten an SEC team in their history(I saw them beat us at Billy Brice in '85 for one. Had some white wr that was like 6'6 tore us apart, believe it was Harbaugh throwing to him). OSU's one win, was with ineligible players in a squeaker and doesnt count 0-89 all time, must feel good to be sitting at home and not losing to a "medicore" USC team yet again

  • yeah that game in 85 was Harbuagh and 6'8 wr Jon Youcich(sp?) going up against our 5'9" cb. It was unfair, 34-3 the year after we won at ann arbor

So your goal for the year was to win your division and just stop there? Sounds like a season that doesn't count to me...

Eh? I think the goal was to win every game. Mission accomplished. Still 12 more wins and 0 more losses going into both tOSU's overall record and on Urban Meyer's resume. Those numbers count.

I keep hearing the moral victory by the B1G #3 over a the SEC #6 and I watched, and re-watched the game, and am baffled. I didn't realize Michigan won.

The final score shows SC winning by 5(think the spread was 5.5 after opening at 3, those sharps are pretty good)

SC missed two shorter fgs while UM went 3/3 including a 52 yarder, or the game isnt as close.

SC out-gained Michigan 426-355 (we lost one possession due to housing a punt or it would be even more one sided)

SC averaged a solid 5.0 yards per rush, Michigan a paltry 3.1

Sc averaged a respectable 9.5 yards per pass, Michigan had a horrific 5.8 yards per pass

SC lead all but what 6 mins of the game?

Yes, Michigan kept the ball a long time. Yes, they had many drives extended by the nose of the football, even going 3/4 on 4th downs. Sometimes an inch makes the difference. In this game that inch was always on Michigan side, every time.

No Michigan didn't beat SC. Yes SC did beat Mich. Must be sad to have to hang your hat on coming within 5. Have fun with the moral win by Michigan Pac 12, B1G's and the rest of you hating on the SEC.

^^ this guy needs a hug.. What's a matter? You not getting the respect you feel your team needs. It was a good close game that USCe won. Good lord what cry baby

Might be Paul Jokisch. He was a 6'*" wide out. UM had like 4 3rd downs where they simply tossed it high and our little waterbugs could do nothing to stop it. I remember seeing Michigan come out of the tunnel that saturday morning and thinking, my Lord, they have a 40 lb per man advantage on us

  • Holy hell, I hope Alabama draws tOSU in a bowl game next year. Time to put Urbie and the arrogant ass Buckeye fans back in their place (ya know, as the SEC's bitch).

UM fans, please send Brady down to spend some time with Saban. He will show him how to make Urbie curl up in the fetal position and whine about "chest pains". What a bitch! Is there a softer head coach in all of college football? And his teams take on his personality....that's the most laughable part.

  • There is no way Michigan should be the absolute stated third best team. Hats off to OSU for an undefeated season. That is hard to do no matter what league. They have to be considered the best.

After that you have a bunch of teams that beat each other and could on any occasion. So anybody could argue Michigan was the third best and you could say, yeah maybe. They could also put OSU, Wisconsin, Nebraska, PSU ahead of them and you could say , yeah I see that too.

Michigan could be argued as the third through the sixth best team in conference and I'd have no problems either way. ( I'm kind of throwing NW in there)

It was a horrible boring year.

Crying, no. I respect Michigan. I am cracking on the Southern Cal, Miami, FSU fans etc who are claiming SEC is over-rated so much because we barely beat a "mediocre" Michigan squad(even though it was a push per Vegas) Ive seen 30 threads between two message boards where they are using SC's victory as a negative
