Was what Alabama did to Darius Philon right?

No one has answered my questions. Nobody has explained how Auburn is serving young men better thanks Alabama even though the number of players that graduate and/or go to the NFL is nowhere near that of Alabama. Honestly I don't expect you to address this because you really don't care about these young men, you only pretend to when it fits your argument to flame Alabama.

ha. here is your stupidity. And btw, this was not the hard to look up. In fact you probably should have done it before you posted.

We have a cruel SOB for a head coach. We knew that going in. The majority of his players love him. For the most part, they stay out of trouble. They go to class. We are not known for cheap shots or bad mouthing our opponents. Roster management is an aspect of his job that leaves him vulnerable to his critics. Every coach that recruits against him has that in their pocket to use against him. There have been several rule changes aimed directly at him. Kids know that coming here is not going to be a big party. Yet, they are lining up to play here. He could have signed 50. We take the good with the bad. I'm glad he is running our show. I hate it that Darius was upset. I wish him nothing but the best. However, I don't feel sorry for him.

I am going to say. this right here is the perfect answer to this situation. Unfortunately, you are the 1% of bama fans who view it this way. bravoclap

I will say, I too wish AU had the perception that bama has when it comes to high school kids. The kids want to play there no matter what even if that means they will be "processed" out in 2 year. The kids know that it is a real possibility and a higher probability then at any other school in the nation. Yet they are still lining out the door to give it a shot. Kudos

Actually he said "the number of players who go to the NFL are nowhere near that of alabama".

So that stat doesn't seem to be very useless afterall. He didn't argue who has the most NFL players in the past 3 drafts. Sooooooo.............yep. stat is useful afterall. AU wins. Tell your fellow bama fans that if they want to flame they better make sure that it is with correct information. otherwise they will look like idiots.

That is not what I am talking about. Saban is selling his UA and Chizik is selling his AU. Afterall this thread is about how Saban abuses young men. What matters is each individual coaches track record. There is no doubt that Saban has put more players that in the NFL than Chizik has over the last 2-3 years. If you want Ill post numbers later.

Not sure where I mentioned turnover rate in my commentary. Either way, I was giving the poster a compliment and you school a compliment. you need to learn how to accept that type of stuff.

you said at alabama not under saban. So the reference is between schools not coaches. Thus the stat that bama has 26 and au has 31 is completely relevant. If you want to flame make sure you are clear so you don't get called out.

I apologize for not making it clear. I assumed that you had a reading comprehension at a high enough level to take that out of the context of the post. Obviously I made a mistake.

Now that I have clarified myself will you respond to the post as it was intended?

nice. So because you aren't smart enough to make sure that your comment was clear on how you wanted to flame, I am the one with out a high enough level of reading comprehension. Actually it sounds like I actually had the higher reading comprehension. You said bama not saban referring to the school. You also never said in the recent couple of years. So good try on the intended flame but fail on your part and now your upset for being called out on it.

btw, I don't need to look up the au vs. bama draft picks in the past 2-3 years. We all know bama wins that battle hands down but again thats not what you stated. I could also say what are the numbers from 03-06 if I wanted to cherry pick my numbers.

  • its funny how bama fans like to criticize au fans for saying AU has a better win record since 1981 (start of Pat Dye era) than bama. And bama fans always say you can't pick the time frame to look at stats, you have to use all. Now the tide has turned (pun intended) and a bama fan wants to select a certain year range instead of all current players and it has clearly upset some people.

for the record, I do completely understand that saban is a better coach to put players in the nfl, and the numbers verify that to date. The verdict is still out on chizik as he is still a very young head coach (in terms of years as a head coach). I am just arguing to be arguing, as I love the irony of the situation and the fact that there are few who are trying to change what was actually said to better prove their flame. biggrin

this quote is to justify the point of how great the bama perception is. even though the "perception" of bama is that they have the highest probability then at any other school to "process" players, the players still line up the door. I was referring to the perception bama has created.

I wan't talking about factual but perception. I guarantee if you polled the blue board on what school they thought did the most "processing" you would find the answer to be bama. So try again. I tried to give your school a compliment and you refuse to take it. sad.

There is no irony. If you want to look at all time marks, please do so. If you want to talk about right now then go for it. We laugh at you guys for looking at history, but then looking at only a sliver of it. That shit is funny. Discussing the present means you discuss the head coaches and their track records for developing talent, graduating players, etc.

You're seriously picking nits here, but I suppose its your right. I think most people take it for granted in these sort of conversations that previous coaching regiemes aren't relevant.

I understand. And I actually understood what he was trying to say, but he is intending to flame my school so I am going to call him out when he is false. My point to him was if you want to flame, either 1)make sure it is a correct fact, or B)make sure that the statement is correct on the point you are trying to make. He didn't get B right so therefore it wasn't correct on A. He flame what he wants when he is right, but if the statement is false (which it was) I am going to call you out. at this point I have just having fun with the ones who are trying to turn the statement into a true when its not.

except he was trying to discuss NFL players of the present. Not once did he say anything about coaches. NFL players mean all associated with the school. Unless you further clarify the criteria. So yes there is irony because now the both of you are trying to change the statement at hand to mean something that it didn't say, thus creating a specific time frame. Irony.

all that matters is no one is putting kids in the NFL on the same level as Bama is right now. 4 1st round picks last year, 2 the year before, 1 the year before that. And maybe 5 more this draft with 4 projected to go 1st round in 2013 as well.

I know that you understood what I meant. Everyone in this thread understood the meaning of my post. My post was not a flame; nothing derogatory was said about AU or any poster in this thread(other than that howard was just straight flaming which is true). You choose not to answer my questions because they contain facts that point to the fact that we are developing young men better than any other university in the SEC and you would rather change the subject than admit that truth.
