I'll take the recruiting natty champs for now, it most likely means MSU is going to get their ass kicked for the next 4-5 years. Before you say "RR had good classes and MSU beat them!" RR also recruited a bunch of tiny WRs and didn't coach defense, Coach Hoke spreads out his recruiting classes towards needs and coaches defense and offense.
Call me when MSU is within 30 wins of Michigan in the all time record.

UM fans bringing up wins from 1890-1950 would be like if MSU had played CMU every year from 1970 through 2012, but CMU then invested in its program and turned into a nationally competitive BCS-conference program and became a hated rival of MSU, and MSU fans insisted on spuriously acting like the wins from when CMU was MAC-level had any bearing on reality.

Seriously. No arbitrary distinctions or cutoff dates. It's not like Michigan somehow forced MSU to field a football team and get their asses kicked, that was all by choice. If you're going to step onto the field, you accept the results at the end of the game.
