Pretty much. What do we even talk about? Its existence can't really be debated.

I hate how everyone tries to think that if someone has a problem with the current wealth inequality then they want total wealth equality or its an not possible in a meaningful way. That's just not true. Other countries who still manage to have market-base economies (heck some that are higher on the Economic Freedom Index) manage to not have wealth inequality problems and provide services for their people in a meaningful way. No one wants to hear me say we can be try to introduce American versions of programs of all sorts from countries like Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Hong Kong etc.

    Adaptation. That's the key.

Good post. Most people have no clue what socialism and communism even are and have negative connotations because the iterations of it have failed. Mostly bc they were designed and overseen by fools like the Russians. I'm not suggesting those ideals as policies but we need to press through all the ridiculous misconceptions.

The goal of civilization in its pure form is to create the largest middle class possible. Period. The upper class is generally that group of ultra productive citizens that should be highly rewarded and encouraged but not to the point where they get so much the middle class is inhibited.

True. Every time I've even hinted at the existence of wealth or income inequality in the US I've been attacked as a "communist" or someone who wants to "redistribute wealth."

My thing is this: I have no problem calling the governmental system corrupt; I actually agree. But I also think it's fairly apparent that capitalism and the business system we have now is just as corrupt, but some people won't acknowledge that. It's all bad up top IMO. Too much greed.

Yep. Private enterprises suffer from just as much, if not more, corruption than the American government. The two are also so incredibly intertwined that it taints both systems. The unwillingness to examine multiple angles and the eagerness to scapegoat anyone are what allow those corrupt high-ranking members of society to continue to do what they do.

Yeah, didnt watch it but I am sure she believes since Obama has used the words wealth redistribution that he's a socialist right out of Czarist Russia. The super productive should lead super awesome lives. 1-10 mill a year supplies that and more. Above that should be hammered and 1-10 million earners should pay 45% or so IMO.

  • This question is for anyone. So what do you wAnt. I can't think of a society in history or currently that didn't have a "rich" class. I get the whole people are pissed at companies, that make billions a year. Not that I agree but I can see an argument at least. But I don't at all get the whole if you make 250k a year you are rich and can afford to pay more. Call me conceited or whatever but I don't think 250k/ yr is rich. Not trying to start shit just asking

    Go bucky go

  • Y'all really should watch the video. It doesn't call for Socialism or anything like that.

Here it is. 10 million is the limit folks, anymore than 10 million and you WILL be punished! LOL.

I don't see what the complaining is about, so what some people have more money and some people have less?

    What's the point?

TT made that number up arbitrarily.

It's just talking about the differences between the ideal, perceived and real levels of equality.
