    Riiiiight, because private enterprise had absolutely no influence on the offshoring of jobs, it was all Democratic policies and left-wing action. Give me a break. Demonstrate some sort of rudimentary understanding of cause-and-effect before spouting off at the mouth. Shockingly enough, the world isn't black-and-white.

    Companies go where the money takes them, is that a foreign concept to you? Now I will concede the growth of the global market as hurt America's manufacturing as more companies need to get their products overseas cheap, especially the Oil/Gas Industry. I work for a company that has plants in many countries to deliver our products to those regions cheaper.

    Now America was helped big time after WW2, because they were one of the few countries that wasn't completely destroyed, so not only did they have a monopoly on manufacturing there was also a great need by almost every other country for our goods.

    Perfect storm for that class to grow, however I think most thought it would never change and unions got greedy. Companies began to see the benefits in profit to move their operations off shore, because they have a responsibility to their stockholders to be good shepherds of their investments.

    How many companies have to leave before the government figures out that they need to do things to make it worth their while to stay.

    look in the difference in pay for the big brass of those companies and the how much more it is than it was 30 years ago in comparison to the workers. The reason companies go overseas is to protect the profit margin for the grossly paid big wigs.

    If they could just be very rich instead of stupidly wealthy and there would be more jobs. good paying jobs that would kick the economy into high gear and put a "chicken in every pot" so to say.

    The problem is greed at the top. They have a license to steal. That includes the politicians. I have no problem with people who are on top making a very good living. One that is clearly distinguishable. But when people can not even imagine the difference in a time when people are pissed about wealth distribution already, come on.

    You may have a point, but who is to say what another person's worth to their company is? I've worked in a bunch of companies that had too many layers of management, so I think there is an issue there.

    But I suggest that having a globally based company is much harder to run/manage and most of these executives deserve their compensation.

    Not too mention that a lot has changed with how companies are managed due to the marketplace and their decisions on how profitable companies should be.
