What .500 or worst team in your conference......

  • Could make some serious noise this year and why?

I'll say Tennessee. I am not sure if Dooley is the guy to get it done or not, but with the receivers coming back and if Bray can stay healthy, they could make some serious progress, IMO.

They have the top WR corp in the SEC and top 5 in the country as well. They key for them has to be running the ball and suring up the OL. They weren't good on defense, but that was also a product of a horrible running game and not being able to control the clock.

I have them at 7-5 next year losing to Florida, @UGA, Alabama, @South Carolina, and Mizzou. There are also possible losses to NC St, Miss St, and Vandy, but I could see them winning all of those and possibly picking off Florida and/or Mizzou as well.

5-3 won't win the East more than likely this year, but it would definitely save Dooley's job.

The other choice in the mix from the SEC would be Florida and I could have easily chosen them as well. Defense should be solid and it will be nice to see what the younger, bigger backs can do with Rainey and Demps gone. Gave the nod to Tennessee because of the QB/WR combination. Probably the best combo outside of USC and WVU, IMO.

    BetterOff

  • The easy choice for the Big Ten is Ohio State. Coming off a 6-7 season, they are 1 season removed from all the drama that plagued them and not to mention Braxton Miller will get to start the entire year.

I would say that would definitely be the obvious one. Iowa could make some noise as well, IMO.

    BetterOff

  • Definitely Tennessee. Florida was barely over .500 ill go with them too.
